Wow! What can I say, this thing is a monster. At 900lbs be prepared. I had an 18in Rikon saw previously and while it was a great saw I had wanted something with a greater resaw capacity as well as a larger motor. I did a lot of research when searching for a saw of this caliber. Some of the criteria I looked at were. 1. Quality 2. Resaw capacity 3. Motor size 4. Features 5. Weight. 6. Blade size. Powermatic hands down had most beat In every category. It’s the heaviest of all the saws by almost double. This translates into a stable vibration free platform. It Has a 5hp monster motor that is probably the largest I have seen on a saw. 18in resaw capacity, which is 6in larger than the Rikon at 12in. And the fit and finish I’d the best I have seen on any saw. No plastic anywhere. The fence alone probably weighs 20-25lbs. I also wanted to make sure that this would go down to 1/8th blade for scroll work. I couldn’t be happier. You need to buy your own cord and plug and need a 30a beaker which takes about 10min to wire. The only thing that some people might cringe at is the price. Yes you were paying a premium and you would probably be able to find some of these features in other brands, but not with everything combined. One of the biggest things that stood out to me Is how heavy it was. It’s almost double the weight of most of the other saws letting you know that they didn’t skimp anywhere and build quality it’s about the best you’re going to get. If you get a chance to check these out in person you’ll understand right away what I’m talking about. Trust me give this saw the shake test, it won’t move. Shake any other saw and the’ll move. Super happy with the saw!
