How do you know what size to get?

Gmorn, they (anyone you can look up) usually give you a size by the weight your loved one weighed at time of death before cremation. i also took into consideration i wanted to add some personal trinkets. But it is the one i chose for my mom and i am happy with it, all things considered, i mean, like not having to do this at all. Anyway, i hope this helps.

Will it be ok to pour the ashes directly inside the urn?

You could pour the Ashe’s directly into the urn, however I would suggest putting them in a heavy plastic bag (baggie), due to the fact that if somebody opens the urn , the Ashe’s are very powdery and they may run the chance of inhaling them.

will it sink in the ocean???

When u put the ashes inside the urn- it usually weighs about 10-15 lbs for a normal healthy adult- so will definitely sink in the ocean.
