Haden Heritage Black & Copper Toaster

I’m very happy with the two-slice chrome toaster I received. It’s a simple, clean design at a decent price.The build feels solid, (not rattling) unlike many cheaper toasters I’ve had. I also recommend the Haden Kettle with temperature control.

Toaster is very easy to use and easy to clean. It makes the best toast. The size of the slots are very good. Toaster is quite light to lift. Very good value for the price.

There was so much difference between the level of toasting on each side of the bread that it was hard to find a setting that produced acceptable results. When viewing the glowing heating elements, it was easy to see why there was such a difference in the degree of toasting, as the elements on one side glowed much brighter than the ones facing the other side of the bread. Also, on my machine, the setting knob on the one side of the toaster was quite stiff, compared with the one on the other side. One other thing; there didn't seem to be an option to raise the bread during toasting to check toasting progress, so several slices of toast ended up in the bin, as they were really over-cooked, and that was on setting 3 (of 1-7) and with frozen bread enabled (using bread straight from deep freeze). I was not impressed with this at all and have sent it back for a refund.

Neat 2 slot toaster. However I’m not impressed with its toasting performance. Bought to replace a 4 slot toaster to save electricity. It has wide slots for ? Crumpets? So wide that normal sliced bread doesn’t toast on one side. Having to insert the bread twice isn’t very environmentally or economically sensible. Disappointing.
