The first time I purchased this product, it was badly damaged by FedEx in transit. The company contacted me immediately when I reported it, and after I sent pictures of the damage, they refunded me fully within 24 hours of me contacting them. I reordered it and this time Amazon delivered it. It takes a while to put together because there are a lot of parts and instructions, and it takes too people at times. But that's what I would expect for a cabinet this size and this sturdy. It was not difficult to follow the instructions at all. I LOVE the cabinet. It's sturdy, looks nice in our basement, and has lots of storage space. I highly recommend it.

I ORIGINALLY bought this cabinet for one hobby that turned into many unfinished hobbIES! I have cubes inside to organize and material that is folded to keep score of what I am NOT doing! The shelves are awesome, and the door shelf is great. I just have too many crafts... that I am unwilling to divorce. Or so I thought. About this time, 2024, I began to notice that the "c" part of the cabinet that holds the shelves was not sturdy. By the end of the year, I noticed that the shelve brackets were not straight rails but tapered at the end which lent to the ....... I really didn't have any problem, even with that. My problem came when the door fell off of the cabinet. I see the twist screw connector is popping out of the home.... I learn on the page that SAUDER has a 5 year warranty plan, Ecstasy! I can get some assistance by way of fixing it I thought. I was actually looking for a product fix. They have a 5 year warranty!! Oops, we know you told the truth about your purchase, but errum, we discontinued that model so you're cOl... no worse, you are a non-factor as a customer because we decided to upgrade your cabinet and scrooge everyone else with the old model!!!! ^^^ was the conversation I had regarding said cabinet. In short, yes, we have warranty but not if the company decides on diversity within the furniture..... omg.... hahahahah my furniture went ****faint**** I asked SAUDER just to help me fix my original issue.... since there is a warranty.... do...WOULD YOU BELIEVE THAT A FURNITURE COMPANY DOESN'T HAVE THE ABILITY TO BACK-WORK? REALLY? Sincerely!!!!!! how are you a furniture company and not have the crew to help me figure out how to stick a screw in the socket of a warped hole to keep the shelves and such on a door part? SAUDER? where's your R&D department? The dang part is reversible nowwwwwwwwwww I had the hetero cabinet "C".. now you offer diversity in this model!!!!!!!! in shorter longer breaths..... Facebook told me to call the service line and or the chat feature..... I DID THATTTTTTT..... why? Then, they ghosted my concerns (i think deleted????) on their comment sections. Ignoring is ghosting. If you want longevity in your purchases, beware and weary when it comes to Sauder. Customer Service, product, warranty and availability are null and void when your product gets UPGRADED!!!!!!! sheeshy why have a warranty if you ignore it with the secretary?

Pros: - Deeper than a lot of hutches and kitchen storage furniture, so it fits my larger pots and pans and all of my funky kitchen tools like a spiralizer and salad spinner and such. - asymmetrical doors add a little interest while overall matching my simple white kitchen cabinets, and you can build it with the small door on either side so it’s flexible for placement in your space - the thinner door opens fully out 180 degrees, so the shelves in each section are next to each other. I can open the thing and see everything in one go, an asset to my addled mind. - the front doors, handles, and hinges are all reasonably good hardware and construction, slightly nicer than I would expect at this price point - I bought the white cabinet and it is in fact very standard melamine white, no faux patina nonsense and no trying to match ivories or whatever - everything was clearly labeled and there were no missing pieces. I especially liked the hardware packaging, little bubbles for each labeled item with perforations to tear open, very helpful. - the instruction manual was clearly written in good English with the occasional personal touch, kudos to whoever pays their editors. - there was only like five pieces of styrofoam, thank goodness! Cons: - This thing was a PAIN to assemble, and I don’t say that lightly. I am an avid ikea furniture assembler, I love doing puzzles and putting stuff together. I ask friends if I can come help them assemble their furniture after they buy stuff for new babies because I find it so satisfying. My partner is literally a woodworker, he is making a bench right now, he owns his own shop space, etc. Our skills combined did NOT make it easy. The pieces themselves all seem mostly fine, but goodness assembly was hard. It took us the better part of a very sweaty day to build. We ended up putting a shelf in wrong way round and didn’t notice until the very end - we will be covering the exposed edge with our own melamine tape. The base was a huge PITA to assemble, and once it was on it was a good half inch out of alignment with the sides with very little way to fix it, which led to problems down the road. Because of its asymmetrical nature and how you can have the doors flipped, you have to drill through specific holes and leave others alone - this was not super clear in the instructions, and also if you need a proper drill bit that is not good flat pack furniture etiquette imo. I ended up drilling through some wrong holes and now the base and top of my cabinet have cracks in the surface, and I can’t neatly fix them because again, melamine. And the BACK, omg. It is truly some of the thinnest cardboard I’ve seen yet, its only saving grace being that the white side very closely matches the rest of the pieces. There is almost no room for error when you put it on, either. Because of the aforementioned issues with the base, everything was kind of tilted a bit, and I ended up nailing into thin air, or into the edges of supports and splintering them, and there is a gap in the back… ugh. And, you have to nail in a million nails all around, I am pretty good with a hammer but I whacked my thumb a fair few times during the process. It would have been better with glue, frankly. The anti-tip strap is really flimsy, and screwing it into the wall was somehow impossible. We are very familiar with drywall anchors and this was some kind of weird style. Also it doesn’t include hardware to screw into a stud, which seems shortsighted and cheap. At one point they tell you to set a door somehow hovering a few inches in the air so you can screw in hinges correctly. They suggest using packaging or books to lift it up. Holy moly. This led to a comedic dance of my partner holding the door like some kind of power lifter between his legs and me running around trying to get three stacks of different books to all equal the same height. It was absurd. There must have been a better way but by that time we were too sweaty and tired to think of it. - Okay. Rant about assembly over. But I also have to say that this thing is heavy and adjusting the feet to get things level was a scary two person job. A lot of it was definitely two person, like flipping the thing to nail on the back, or getting the big door attached with adjustable hinges while it’s upright, but that was the one where I feared getting crushed. - It does indeed have a pretty strong chemical smell, but only AFTER assembly and it standing for a day or so. All the fumes collect inside so every time I open it I’m wafted in the face. That said, it’s really not a huge deal, nor unexpected with materials like this. If you want your cabinets to smell nice, buy cedar. But if you are very sensitive to smells plan on leaving it open for a few days to air out. - it doesn’t have enough shelves, I think. I could fit way more stuff in both sides if I had about four more shelves in there. The spaces are tall and there is a lot wasted. I’m probably going to build some additional shelves myself, and that will probably cost half the price of the whole unit. Conclusion: My standards for furniture are too high and I should have budgeted for something a heck of a lot nicer. Just because we are highly skilled furniture assembly people doesn’t mean the hours of work were worth the quality of the end product. However, I feel like I tripled my kitchen storage space in a day, and maybe that IS worth it, until I can afford something else. Not that I’m having visitors these days, but if I were to, they would be impressed by the appearance of the cabinet, as long as they didn’t look too closely. Despite the wonkiness in assembly, it’s level and relatively sturdy in the end, and it arrived all in good shape, too. When I look at the cost, vs how much work it took to build, vs the result, I think I come out better than dead even.

This item is very heavy. It was not too difficult to built UNTIL the smaller door wouldn't stop scraping the bottom. It is way too heavy for the hinges used to hold it up in place. I spent many many hours trying to fix this issue. I had to reinforce the hinges with extra screws. This one was a real challenge and sadly, could have been better with a little better design.

This wardrobe is a decent option if you are lucky enough to receive it with intact packaging and undamaged. While I wouldn't say it is the best quality, it is comparable to IKEA products and could benefit from a price drop. I am giving it three stars not because of the quality, but because of the hassle I had to go through to get it. On the first day of delivery, the package arrived completely soaked and falling apart. Luckily, my father-in-law was there to receive it. I immediately contacted Amazon to explain the situation and express my dissatisfaction. The weight of the wardrobe made it impossible for me to return it to the post office, so I made sure to inform Amazon about this. They initially gave me a date for pickup, but then changed it to almost two weeks later. I immediately called and made a complaint, and they rescheduled for UPS to pick it up the next day. I honestly believe they should have handled this situation better, as it was a pain to wrap and tape the product back up to meet UPS standards. It wasn't my fault that the box arrived in such poor condition. Despite the difficulties, I received a new wardrobe, which took me about four hours to assemble by myself. Unfortunately, one of the door frames started falling apart at around 2:30 AM. I was frustrated, but luckily, I am handy and my father-in-law is a carpenter, so I asked him for some wood glue to fix it the next morning. It was clear that the frame wasn't properly assembled at the factory. The instructions were easy to follow, and I would recommend having a second pair of hands to make the process faster. I found it helpful to check off each step as I completed it. Once assembled, the wardrobe was easy to slide around on my wood floor. I have seen reviews where people found the instructions confusing or had difficulty putting it together. There was even one review where someone claimed it took them 10 hours. However, I can assure you that with some patience, this can be done quickly and easily. I managed to do it by myself, even while being sick with a weird virus. If I had a second pair of hands and wasn't sick, I probably could have finished it in under two hours. Overall, it is a good product, but I do wish it was more affordable.
