As I’ve gotten older my nails have ridges and are thinner. I now buff them out and use the Nail restore and they look great!

I love the Dermelect Transfix Nail Restore Base Coat. It goes on so smoothly and leaves a nice natural looking luster on my nails and my nails are growing stronger with this product.

This helps my damaged nails very well. I use as a first base coat, sometimes two coats is great. I used it with the Camo Nude from the same company which I will review next. The Dermelect products are helping my nails look a lot better.

Camo-Nude polish by Dermelect is better than this Transfix product, which is better than their Makeover polish in terms of cosmetic appeal. (Unless you like an unnatural pink hue.) I think Camo-Nude is a bit better at hiding ridges too. Also, the Camo-Nude wears off, it doesn't chip off. That makes it easy to just add a coat rather than constantly use polish remover, which tends to defeat your gains. All the Dermelect nail polishes are better than normal polish or therapeutic nail products at concealing ridges and making nails look healthy while being much gentler on the nail. (A good part of the battle.) At first, I thought this product was rebuilding my tattered, chipping, tearing, splitting, flaking, and dull, powdery nails. If one consistently uses the product, meaning applying it frequently while the nail grows out, it does help but not as much as I imagined, based on the company sales information. Still, it does much better than other brand products. I suspect that a large part of the reason it helps the health of the nails is that it protects them from water. Water on nails and hair tends to break down the keratin. Thus the age-old advice to 1) wear gloves around water and 2) don't wash you hair more than you absolutely have to and dry it soon. To you other buyers, the effort and cost are best endured by those of you with truly ratty nails. Otherwise, the cost to benefit ratio is questionable.
