They give me enough light to read outside and although don’t scare all bugs away they did minimize some. Less moths.

Sure saved our problem with dead bugs on our porch daily. We still get a few. When we were using white lights for lighted feature outside , bugs were everywhere. So far the bulbs have lasted all summer. I was concerned about yellow lite in our yard but it is very complimentary .

Bulbs are constructed well with bright amber light but have a flaw. When you turn on the lights after dark, they come on for 3 seconds and then turn off for 4 seconds, then then come on again and stay on. It's a inconvenience that you have to wait 7 seconds for operation. This has been verified singly and in pairs, in multiple fixtures, hooded and unhooded and in different locations.

When I was reading the reviews I was skeptical of the light output of these lamps but a couple of the comments on how bright they were made me take my chances. The minute they arrived, I began the switch from white lamps to amber. Then I waited till the evening to see the results. And what a surprise! I guess the bright illumination is paring with the other lights in the cul'd'sac. Now the view from my two security cameras is much better and the colors on the grass and plants are brighter and stronger. Better yet, as to insects, none--the main reason to get these lamps. Up till yesterday (during certain seasons), my white door had a few flying insects dancing over and around it, attracted by the door's color. I just checked and there are none on the door, the lamps or anywhere in the porch. UPDATE. Days later, still no bugs. I cannot believe the extent by which the white spotlights attracted all types of insects which ended up flying up and down over my white door. What a relief! SECOND ORDER FOR INDOORS. I tried this bulb in a floor lamp by my recliner and began reading a very small print. It was better for my eyes since the light pointed up--no direct flow of light toward me. These are amber and I marveled at the warmth the lamps add to the room--indoors!

Great accent out front for Halloween!

As we have moved from halogen to incandescent, then to LED, and now dusk 'til dawn, this product lights very well outside the way the older, less energy efficient light bulbs did. This product has replaced the LED for our outdoor lighting. That way, we can keep the light switch on (rather than turn on at night and off in the morning), and the light bulb does the work for us. We had the same thing in clear, but prefer this yellow/amber look that floods the area well.
