Great price and quality. Minor annoyances to be aware of
This product at this price is an amazing deal. The issues listed here are simply minor things that people should be aware of when buying. 1. The housing latch on the back is only semi functional. It does latch and provide some use in securing the lid down, but with minimal effort, I was able to pop the latch off the metal part of the housing rendering the latch useless. This is not a big deal as my cameras were mounted 20' up but something people should take into account when wanting to secure the housings with a lock (the lock portion does not affect the latch being able to pop off) 2. The cable wire holes in the base of the unit are not standard size. They are about a little less than 1/2" which made it difficult to adapt with my MC conduit cable/tubing adapters. Again not a big deal as I was able to put my pliers in the opening and round out a bigger whole that took my adapter, but just something to be aware of. Note: If you are not using MC aluminium or Liquid Tight tubing then the included adapter hole covers work well with RG59 cable. 3. The interior mounting hardware is excellent. Very easy to pop in and out to get your camera mounted in just the right spot. The included smaller screws secure your location once you have that perfect shot. The quality of the metal and glass is excellent for this price point. I also like the versatility I have in mounting the housing as I was able to bring the mount all the way to the back of the housing and point it at a steep angle while still maintaining its full rigidity. Also doesn't seem to fog up and I am not using a blower. TL:DR Great unit for a great price. Just be aware of the non standard (1/2") cable holes and non secure latch mechanism.

Light duty housing
The box led me to believe it had a fan and heater built in.... not there. Otherwise it seems to be reasonable quality.

No Documentation or hardware Included
Yet another, very low quality, Chinese made product that you will be sorry that you purchased. No instructions at all, so it is impossible to figure out how to use it. No hardware either...just no clues at all as to how to mount a camera inside. This is one of the dumbest purchases I have ever made. I sent it back for a full refund.

Decent housing
I built a homemade 802.3af PoE powered IP camera using a Logitech C920 webcam, a Freescale iMX53 quickstart board running Ubuntu, and a TPLink PoE power splitter. All of the components and cabling mounted on a board I cut to size and attached to the plastic mounting plate fit nicely without being cramped. For the ethernet cable connection, I fit an RJ45 coupler in the cable cutout hole, although not intended for one. I'm going to get another one for a 2nd and likely a 3rd homebuilt IP camera based on a Raspberry Pi that I have currently bench-tested indoors Likes: - build quality is not too bad - very decent price considering it comes included with a mounting arm - solid cast metal mounting arm is very robust and the housing does not jiggle around once secured - aluminum extrusion -- easy to drill/notch/modify if needed - Front glass looks like glass. I haven't checked closely if there's any distortion in video quality because of it. The webcam I'm using is not terribly crystal clear looking at things at a distance (20ft+) Dislikes: - The front hinge for the top cover is secured with a single metal screw that is self-tapped into a shallow extruded groove (runs across the length down the center of the cover). If the threads are stripped, there's nothing left holding the top onto the body, and the top will be rendered somewhat useless. - Plastic end caps--not clear to me how well they'll stand up to long-term sunlight exposure - Mounting arm does not work for ceiling-mounted/hung installations - Included is a plastic mounting plate that's snapped into 2 extruded slots that run the length of the bottom piece. I suppose it's intended to be used with off-the-shelf cameras. Looks like it can be secured by screwing it into the extruded slots that run the length of the bottom piece. It feels a little weak and I won't be surprised if I broke it one of these days. Would be nice if there were provisions to allow parts to be screwed directly into the housing instead of into the slots running the length since stripping threads is rather easy. - IP43 rated at best from what I see, less if the top cover cannot be secured snuggly. There are also ventilation slots on the bottom of the rear cover that will definitely let water and dust in if sprayed from the bottom Overall, it's not bad, but it's not as 'heavy duty' as it appears. It's probably best mounted under an eave to provide additional weather protection.

Not compatible with cameras with center bolt
The enclosure has a central rail that protrudes up in contact with the plastic slider where the camera has to be mounted, therefore there is no space for the bolt that connects the camera to the slider. It would probably work well with cameras that have a different mounting location than a center hole but definitely this enclosure seems incompatible with axis cameras. I will have to return and order another one.

Great product, exactly what it says it is
Great product, well-built, worked great for me. Not too much more to tell...it's a metal box. Okay, so Amazon insists I write more. It's everything I hoped an enclosure would be, and so much more. It was better than CATS. I would see it again and again.

Motion Detection Reflects on Glass
My Lorex cameras have what they call a "passive infrared" motion detection system. I know nothing about the technical aspects of this system, but when I install a Lorex camera in this housing, it is fine in regular light. When it is dark, the motion sensing part of the camera reflects on the glass in this unit and causes it to display a starburst effect. When motion is detected is goes off and the picture is ok. At rest though, you can no longer see a picture in the dark. Installation was trickier than others have indicated. I did not have a screw in bolt that would fit into the space allowed to mount the camera. Maybe that part was not included in my package, but I solved the problem by purchasing a special sized bolt at a local hardware store.

This case does not work with Q-see cameras
When I got this case, no instructions were included. I could not figure out how to easily mount a q-see bullet camera inside. I called the mfr. tech support, and got someone who could barely speak English. She said to just return it. So I did.
