Great product WITH app" DSLR Dashboard" - the Nikon app is good only for the trash.
Okay, first thing first: the seller perfect. as describe, fast delivery, no problem. The product: like everybody else comment, the product is fantastic and work wonderfully, the apps SUCKS, even the "new" one. I tried both, yuck... shame on Nikon. Now, I read the very useful of Mr Cheema (January 9th 2014) which say: " the Android app "DSLR Dashboard" supports this wireless adapter and that changed everything. DSLR dashboard is a free Android app that is a million times better than the Nikon app. The Nikon app lets you control the shutter. That is it. Full stop. Period. DSLR Dashboard essentially lets you control the entire camera. Shutter speed, ISO, WB, aperture etc. etc." and he is right what an apps. exactly as he describe it. Completely unleash the potential of the transmitter. Thank you for your advice Mr Cheema! Buy the mobile adapter, trash the apps and use the free "DSLR Dashboard" and you will be a very satisfy with the mobile adapter.

Great Device!
Works wonderfully so far. What should be a disclaimer on the part of Nikon Corp. is that your batteries should be FULLY CHARGED before attempting to use this device! I found this out the hard way, but thankfully I decided calm down and THINK about it. Also, when using this device, it might be a good idea to shoot jpeg formatted images to be retrieved. RAW files are super huge taking longer to downloaded. Attention: This is NOT a Tethering device!

One Half of a Whole
I bought this WiFi adapter for my D600 so that I could connect my iPhone 5S to it. The Nikon software on the AppStore is limited, but I found qDSLRDashboard to be very useful. If you want the most out of this adapter you really need the qDSLRDashboard. The adapter is extremely small and has a convenient holder that attaches to your camera strap. With the third-party software I can expand the capabilities of my DSLR (e.g. Bracketing more than 3 images). The range on the dongle is extremely limited, but to be expected for the size. I have found that the iPhone tends to drop the connect frequently if I am not sending commands across the connection on a regular bases or if it finds a known connect(I assume because it can't find internet through this connection).I use this device as an advanced wireless remote for my camera. I don't stand more than 5ft from my camera while taking pics. I only transfer images wireless if I have a pressing need to publish. If you expect to use this to send pics back to your PC while shooting in the studio or at an event you will be sorely disappointed. If you wish to use this device as I do, you will be happy, but occasionally annoyed by dropped connections.

Absolutely Useless - not even a good Toy
I read the reviews, then I went to YouTube to get some idea how to use this product, to determine if it was worthwhile acquiring. Based upon my research, despite some possible misgivings, I acquired the device. It works, sort of. However, all I wanted to do is control the taking of a picture from Live View using my iPod or iPad. It was painfully clumsy to use. I experimented with the device for two hours, with the idea of working out any technical issues, pilot errors, etc. I could not control the camera other than take a picture; I would set focus, and it would take the subject out of focus.Considering the cost of the D600, and the lenses I acquired for it, the WU-1b software (ios, not android) is so handicapped as to make use of the WU-1b with the camera so restrictive in what you can do as to make it undeniably useless (how's that for a run on sentence?).FYI - no problem with the vendor, or getting the product. It is the product itself that makes me wonder why Nikon, one of the top rated companies for cameras and lenses, allow such an incredibly poor piece of technology to leave the shop.Sorry, Nikon. I am SO disappointed; you get 99/100 on everything I have acquired from you so far; this product gets a 9/100.Oh yes, I am a College Educator. Here is your grade for the WU-1b: FAIL.

Excellent product when combined with DSLR Dashboard. User must enable 'airplane' mode to get correct function.
I received the Wu-1b yesterday. I got it to allow my Android phone to act as the primary control for my Nikon D610. Many people have commented on the difficulty of getting this hardware to interface with the Android operating system. I spent 3 hours trying to get this to work, with very limited success. I was at least halfway convinced that the Wu-1b was malfunctioning.I decided to check on whether others had encountered this problem. I found that, not only was it a common problem, but there was an easy work-around for this problem. If the user first puts the phone in ‘airplane’ mode and then enables wireless internet, then it syncs up easily. The steps for getting this to work on my Android and Nikon D610 are shown below.1. Download and install ‘Nikon Wireless mobile Utility.2. Download and install DSLR Dashboard.3. Insert the Wu-1b into the camera USB port, and turn on the camera.4. Enable airplane mode on cell phone5. Enable Wifi on cell phone6. Under ‘more settings’, select ‘advanced’ and then ‘WPS Push Button’7. Press the WPS button on the Wu-1b for 5 seconds. It takes another 5-10 seconds for the phone and Wu-1b to connect.8. Start the DSLR Dashboard program9. Start taking picturesI started a 24 hour interval session last night. I check on the progress about an hour before dawn this morning and modified the exposure settings as the sun came up. I am using the Schumacher PSJ-2212 Portable Power Unit to power both the camera and the phone. Power capacity was still at 75% this morning.I am very satisfied with the unit and my photo experience so far.
