The Purivortex Air purifier is a real-lifesaver because I have chronic allergies to pets as well as seasonal allergies. I was at my wits' end with my allergies and I was taking medication to relieve my chronic respiratory symptoms. I adopted a kitten recently and I didn't think my allergies would be as severe as usual because I was on prescription medication but I was surely mistaken. After several weeks of battling my chronic respiratory symptoms, I was desperate for any solution other than giving away my kitten because we were practically inseparable. However, after countless research I read that air purifiers can help alleviate allergy symptoms. I figured I had nothing to lose and after looking at several air purifiers I stumbled across the Purivortex Air Purifier. The reviews on this product seemed positive so I decided to purchase it. That was the best decision I've ever made! Within the first twenty minutes of me putting on the air purifier, I noticed a difference. I could finally breathe for the first time in weeks without using my inhaler. I was in love. The price of the air purifier is reasonable and the air purifier doesn't take up too much room. Also, the sleep mode is so convenient because the machine goes into whisper mode so you can sleep soundly. My only complaint is that the filter of the air purifier isn't reusable so after a couple of months I will have to buy a replacement filter that costs 35 dollars for 1 filter.

I live with roommates and I sometimes babysit my niece and nephew. They go to public school and sometimes bring home viruses, I wanted to avoid getting the entire house infected so I bought this one hoping I could avoid that. My roommate also bought one for their bedroom. We somehow managed to avoid the spread of a certain virus recently and only that roommate was affected, thankfully. I like that this one has three settings and when it's on silent mode, its S-I-L-E-N-T. I'm also a sufferer of allergies and by this time (it's now late spring) I'm usually a boogery mess while on ten different medicines for a sinus infection. Wonderful machine and I haven't needed to change the filter yet but it's only been a few weeks. Will update if anything changes. Thanks!*disclaimer*It may have been that we were extremely lucky not picking up virus from roommate, not implying that air purifier will stop a virus from spreading completely.

I have a bedroom that I spend most my time in and I live in a basement. My fiance also smokes cigarettes and I was so tired of the smell. I also have a rabbit that sheds hair like crazy!! Well not only did it make the air quality better, it even sucked up rogue dust AND the rabbit hair. Wow.After using this overnight for about 24 hours, I started noticing the air feeling so breathable! However, the crappy part is that since I have so many pollutants down here, the filter lasted only a month. We have cleaned it a few times, because we're poor and the filter replacement is freaking $20. However, if you are looking for a small unit for a small room, I definitely recommend this air purifier. Cheap and does the job. We keep it on 24/7 but I really need a new filter. If you don't get a new one, you can definitely notice it not working as well as it used to, but it still helps even after cleaning the filter yourself.

This machine is amazing. Love that it has a timer option. A night light essentially as well, although since it does have uv properties to an extent, do NOT look directly into the light. Don't go to the light either [Poltergeist reference : ) ]It's basically quiet, more or less, but even at the loudest (more powerful mode) it is still in the background enough that you can even fall asleep with it in the room with you.The filters are easy to replace, simply turn it off, unplug it, and change it. They're not that expensive to replace either.Recommended time to change the filter? Depends on if you use timer mode or run 24/7, and it matters MOST on how much dust, debris is in the air as well as how big of a space you're using it in. So I would say (also gives recommendations in the booklet) about every 3 to 6 months.Worth the money for what the size is versus expensive models.

Update: They reached out to me and delivered a replacement! I really appreciate them honoring the warranty for their product!Very nice at first, especially for the price. After about a month of constant use, the control panel stopped working. In order to turn it off I have to unplug it from the power and I'm unable to change any of the settings since the panel is broken. It's probably some kind of electrical or wiring issue from production.I'm not sure if it's just mine or a quality control error.I have reached out to the customer service from the company for limited warranty but have not received any response yet.All in all, you get what you pay for!

Unfortunately this air purifier doesn't work very well in medium sized rooms or even small bedrooms. I can see this product being used in a bathroom, or any very small space but that's about it. It is very quiet so that's a plus I suppose, but the fact that it's quiet leads me to believe the motor itself is slow. The intake for dust, hair or smoke is nothing to brag home about. I highly recommend getting a different air purifier if you will be using it for a livingroom, kitchen or bedroom.About the added scent oils, the fact that the motor is slow means the fragrance doesn't work well. I put some vanilla fragrance into the sponge and if I put my nose up-to the air vent it has a faint smell. After a day I went from using 3 drops to 5. The smell got a bit stronger but again you'd only smell it if you put your nose up-to the vent. After awhile I got a Febreze plug in to replace the fragrance aspect of this air purifier. Overall I was disappointed, from the slow motor speed and intake to the "too subtle" fragrance of the air purifier.
