I always use this spray for new shoes. I have noticed a bit difference with spray coating or no coating. Very effective and last long time. It has a very strong chemical smell, so make sure you keep the windows open or do it outside. Once it's dried out, you don't smell anything. I have tried this on many white shoes. Unlike other products, this one doesn't turn the shoes yellow.

This spray is a must have for me. I've been using it for many years or should I say decades. It protects suede and leather. I was wearing my favorite leather pants in a restaurant and the waiter accidentally spilled a full glass of 7-up in my lap. He was mortified and offered to pay for a new pair or dry cleaning. But I just stood up and the 7-up just beaded up and I could wipe it clean with a damp towel. It works extremely well. I use it on all my suede and leather clothes, shoes, handbags and belts. This really works.

If you like jumping in muddy puddles, this product is for you and your toddler. Works well, probably covers several sets of shoes with one can. I like to spray and leave outside to dry, next day spray lightly a second time and you are set.

Amazing I used it for all my shoes it protects them from not getting dirty or wet. I recommend it i even used it for my uggs the best.

We recently ran a half marathon and it rained the whole time. I put this stuff on my shoes and the rain just fell right off!! Great stuff

Kiwi Select All Protector Spray 7.7 oz I bought this spray after I invested in a nice pair of light gray fabric shoes and wanted them to stay new looking as long as possible. The spray is a very fine mist and it's easy to direct it. It goes on very easily and dries within an hour at room temperature. The can states the repellency improves with repeated applications. I haven't been in rainy conditions yet, so I cant attest to how well they repel water. I have worn the treated shoes a month now and they look as good as the day I purchased them. One thing to remember when spraying ... do it outside. The smell of the chemicals will be overwhelming if you do it inside. I think this is a smart purchase. It isnt as expensive as other brands, and Kiwi is a name brand that's been associated with shoe care for many years.

I used this spray on several different pairs of shoes- Vans canvas sneakers, leather-like boots, and my husband's suede-like chukkas before we went on an international trip. My hope with this spray was to protect our shoes from dirt (we tend to walk everywhere when we travel) and to provide some water resistance (our trip was forecasting a lot of rain). I knew they wouldn't magically become as waterproof as rainboots, but at the first sign of a sprinkle, I happened to be wearing my Vans, and I felt it on my sock immediately as if there was nothing on the canvas. I was really disappointed that it provided no water-resistance at all. So, I would not use this product for the so-called water resistance quality. For dirt, on the other hand, I was pleasantly surprised. My Vans were new before our trip, and I wore them almost daily- from big cities to small rural towns- constantly walking and using public transport. After 10 days of heavy abuse, my shoes still looked new. The white of the shoes was still like-new, and all the muck I stepped in didn't show up at all on the shoes. If your sole purpose for buying the spray is dirt-resistance, I highly recommend it.
