Hayward SP1056 Hydrostatic Relief Valve

This pool valve is the best. It is well made and designed. The cost could be a bit lower but considering where it goes and how often it’s changed, I’ll pay what they ask to insure quality.

Perfect fit. Hard to access in 50 degree water. We will see if it holds! Used needle nose vice grips to remove old pug. Hand tighned new one and gave 8th turn more with vice grips.

This hydrostatic relief valve worked great for my father in laws in ground pool. The pool had been losing a half inch of water daily through the old valve which very much seemed to be closed. The only negative I would say about this valve is that there is no easy tool to use to remove it or install it. Hayward sells a PVC style tube, but several people have commented that these break easily. Our solution was to use an oil filter wrench that we could easily attach to a ratchet and then use a dremel and hacksaw to cut out the two tabs on the side of the valve. I will be ordering another one or two so that I can keep them on hand and replace on a regular basis rather than waiting for them to fail.

Old one leaked after 15 years. This one works good. Hope it lasts halve as long as first one.

Not easy to install, this is the second time we ordered this part. This time it arrived.

I like to change my hydrostatic releif valve every other year. This will ensure your pool won't float out of the ground due to ground water. I got 2 and both fit perfectly!

This was simple to install to my pool and will ensure I do not have any issues if I have to lower the water level in the pool. Screwed right in and works to this day just perfect.
