Very Good for Plumeria Plants
I am trying to keep a Plumeria plant alive and this product is helping. My dad purchased some plumeria sticks and planted them for my mom for her 84th birthday last year. She passed away a few days later and my dad was a fanatic about caring for those plants. Then he passed away 3 months after she did. I inherited a plant that is so important for me to keep alive. I must be doing a good job because I needed to transplant it to a bigger pot. I know plumerias must have good drainage. I bought these lava rocks and put it in the bottom of the pot. I purchased cactus soil from our local garden center (who didn't have lava rocks) and added that to the pot. The plumeria is looking great! We live in the Houston, TX area and had a lot of rain earlier this summer. Using these lava rocks in the pot has really helped with draining the pot.

Great for crafting, not just plants!
I don’t use these for potted plants—I use them for crafting, and they work great! The red lava rocks add awesome texture and a realistic look to art projects and dioramas. They’re a nice size—not too big or too small—and very easy to glue down. They stay in place well and really elevate the final look of the project. Durable, easy to work with, and a great addition to any craft stash!

Great Lava Rocks for My Cacti and Succulents -- But Why the Bag Holes???
There are (two?) small holes punched in the plastic at the bottom of the bag.Meaning, if there's a bunch of red lava rock dust at the bottom of the bag and you're trying to pour the lava rocks onto a planter... a cloud of dust will come billowing out of the bag, and spill all over everything.I really like these lava rocks for my plants and have bought them twice, but I highly encourage the company to put these in a plastic bag with NO HOLES. Thank you. Also, I do recommend that you buy these. You should just do what I failed to do, and safely transfer them to an alternate container or bag.

Good for bonsai
Good rock for bonsai tree. I mixed them with soil for bonsai tree and looks like it works. The tree is thriving. The only regret I have is the sizing - even for my small tree one package wasn’t enough so I’ll have to order another one to fill up the pot.

Too small
I ordered these lava rocks to put in a pot to help with drainage and one of my plants. But, these lava rocks are tiny and not the size accustomed to when using for indoor plants.

Best plant media for Anthuriums
I used to use a brand name of pon but it is so hard to get now so I started looking and found this mix of lava rock. It's perfectly sized and is perfect for my nearly 200 Anthuriums. Compared to the other pon that I bought, the price is great for this mix. I really like the color of this mix too. The pictures are a good representation of what you get. The only downside is the dust so it does need to be washed before use.
