Slow filtering but totally worth it
These things are so show to filter the water, especially if using the filter that removes 3x more vs 2x more. However it's worth it. Our city water tastes and smells like the YMCA community pool with how much chlorine is in it. This filter removes all hints of taste and smell. Finally a filter that actually works!

Best filters to remove everything
Buy these they are the best water filters. No taste of anything and I have the worst water. I tried the generic brand but a couple bucks is not worth it. The generic don't work. These take everything out of your water. Last a long time and easy to put in.

Avoid the lead filter - impractical filtering speeds
Updating review for 1/13/2020, original review left below for context. So after filling over the past few days I've noticed it always stops filtering at a certain fill level.Taking the filter out of the container, I noticed the carbon granules looked fairly packed in the filter, and weren't moving around as I flipped the filter. I vigorously shook the filter for 10-15 seconds until it looked like all the particles were moving around freely, and put the filter back in the container. For the first time since installing this filter, the entire reservoir was filtered in a very quick amount of time.If you're encountering issues with the filter being incredibly slow or not filtering:- Take the filter out- Shake it (hard) for 15-20 seconds until it sounds like a maraca- Hold it under a faucet for ~30 seconds- Replace itProblems solved, review updated, will buy again :DOriginal review below:--------I previously purchased the version of this filter that does not filter lead. I believe the model was PPF900Z or CRF-950Z.As much as I like the idea of filtering out lead, these are impractical for everyday use. I PUR's pitcher, the DS-1800Z, and I've never had an issue with any of the previous filters I've ordered from Amazon / PUR. This was the first time I've used the lead-specific filters, and these are so slow, I'm going back.I filled up the pitcher's reservoir before leaving for a weekend trip and there was still water in the reservoir to be filtered when I got back three days later.I believe the issue is these filters need more pressure to filter, so once the pitcher has filled up to roughly an inch from the bottom, there isn't enough pressure from the reservoir to continue pushing water through to be filtered. I can top the pitcher off again to get mayyyyyybe another 1/4 inch, but it has never filtered all the water in the reservoir like previous filters. For how much these filters cost, there's no way I'm refilling the pitcher every 10 minutes to make sure I have a usable amount of filtered water in reserve.

Short lifespan
Initially doesn’t take long to filter but after 3 weeks its already super slow. Kinda frustrating that box says good for 2 months or 40 gallons and not getting anywhere near that.

Clean water and peace of mind
This PUR PLUS replacement filter is a total win. It fits perfectly in my PUR pitcher and starts working right away. You can taste the difference in the water it’s crisp, clean, and has no weird aftertaste. I love that it’s certified to reduce lead and other contaminants, which gives me peace of mind about what I’m drinking every day.The filter lasts a good while with regular use, and swapping it out is super easy no mess, no fuss. I’ve tried off-brand filters before, but nothing compares to how well the real PUR ones work. If you care about water quality and want to keep things simple, this one’s a no-brainer.

Worth it
These PUR PLUS filters are exactly what you want in a replacement - they just work perfectly every time. The difference in water quality is immediate; you get that clean, fresh taste without any of those chemical undertones tap water sometimes has. To know it's actually certified to filter out lead and other nasty stuff, gives me peace of mind. Installation is foolproof and the filters have great longevity with daily use in my household. I learned my lesson trying cheaper knockoff filters that barely lasted and didn't filter as well. Sometimes it's worth paying for the real deal, and this is definitely one of those times! Highly recommend!
