These lightweight biodegradable bags are handy to line kitchen compost containers and reduce clean up. The price seems economical. These bags make it easy to just lift out of the kitchen composter and place in the city yard waste bin.

We use these bags mainly for cleaning the cat litter box. Since we use bags daily for that, I like having a non-plastic option. Be aware that they do not block odor as well as plastic, so if you left a bag of cat or kitchen waste in your trash for a few days, you'd likely smell it. They also will start to break down if you have liquids in them and they sit for more than a day or two. We empty our trash pretty much daily so neither of these is an issue for us. If you used them to collect food scraps over days for composting, it could be more of a problem.

I have been using this product for several years. I quickly discovered that some product makes a 2.6gal bag. This absolutely DOES NOT FIT my 3gal compost bucket! I double bag to better contain liquid and prevent spillage. As such, I go through about 100 bags a year, at less than $20! My city collects compost (properly bagged) every week, even during the winter! So much more convenient than composting at home!

Boy, I wish someone would make these bags cheaper. They're great for what they do (I live in San Francisco and composting is mandatory in the city), but if it's made of corn, why is it priced like it's made out of diamond dust? I try to keep the per-unit expense of these bags down by emptying the bag and reusing it (I toss my compost out nightly to avoid unwelcome fruit fly infestations), but of course that's less feasible if you either wait until the bag is full of slimy molding food, or you toss out a lot of wet organic matter. Still, great bags. But please, someone build a cheaper compost pail liner! At least the Amazon price beats my local retailers ... so that's some comfort.

These are a great size for our household; we have only two people and the city we live in picks up compost weekly. They don't break open easily like other brands of tried either. What I like the best about these, however, is the shape of the box they come in - it's flat, meaning it is super easy to fit on its side under the sink.

I guess these are good if you empty your compost everyday but I have yet to have a bag survive more than a couple days without splitting, disintegrating, and emptying fetid juices all over my bin. Great for composting! Useless for minimal waste homes. Never again.

Quantity 100 should last me almost a year Fits 3 gallon compost bin. We use 2 and occassionaly three per week.
