Works well
I like that it fits a need. It keeps me from having to mill my slide right of the bat. It also gives me the ability to test run a RDS before making a permanent modification. It is very sturdy once installed. And fits as tight as I like. I wish it was a bit narrower but understand that many RDS are wide and this has to match that.

works for me and a great value
I searched all around for one of these and couldn't decide on which one I wanted. Glad I got this one after seeing a lot of other nightmare reviews. I also bought a cheap press off amazon to remove the old dovetail and install this one with a micrometer. Worked flawlessly and adapted the unit I wanted. Would do again and prefer to milling for similar price.

UPDATED: The metal used to hold the adapter in place of the rear sight is not a high enough grade of steel
I like the quality feel of the product overall however my Wheeler sight tool easily crushed the metal of the part securing the adapter to where the original site was, while I was trying to install it. Now its useless. The Wheeler tool had difficulty removing the original steel sight because it was tight from the manufacturer, so I'm not surprised that the softer metal was ruined. The weapon is a Springfield XD(S) 3.3. I am now out the price of the adapter and have to figure out how to get the mashed metal out of my rear sight. I hope it works for some of you, where the tolerances are a little more forgiving. Now I'm facing a Foredom self-extraction or paying a gunsmith to get me back to square one. I'm giving the adapter 3 stars because it might work for some of you, if it slides in easier. Good luck! BTW - I expect a lot of rant about not using a professional gunsmith in the first place, but this is not my first sight replacement and I used proper tools and techniques. UPDATE: This review was answered by OuterImpact and another dovetail was immediately provided along with instructions and videos on how to sand down the dovetail until it slides in easier. After quite a bit of sanding with 400 grit sandpaper, I was able to achieve a snug pressed-like fit that I was comfortable with. I have no other issues and I am very pleased with the response from OuterImpact, so I have raised this review from 3 to 5 stars. I have also added some pictures.

On the fence about it
Dovetail pieces are to deal with, fairly fragile and break or damage was too easily - just a small cost of $15.95 and a bit of S&H to replace. Bonus on the handful of specialized screws. Website mentions "Not only are you not spending extra money on fancy packaging, as well as hardware you’re actually paying for that you don’t need; Well I received plenty of packaging, and hardware I don't need...why not just offer the Torx wrench instead of the baggies of screws I have laying around. Designing, manufacturing, and distribution of 'specialized' screws is costly, offering a USA or Chinese made T-10 tool isn't enough to drive overhead up and companies out of business. Overpriced bracket mount hasn't appeared to warp or ding after a few hundred rounds, although I did lose one of the two tiny 'prongs' that align the optic onto the plate. The small silver alignment pins are too small and don't fit snug on three different optics. Price on their website is cheaper than Amazon purchasing. Good concept overall, but I gotta be honest and say for the price I feel I should've done it right and milled the slide for a few bucks more. Won't say this mount will work for some people's need's. Outerimpact isn't anything less than a good company, I can see their product's only getting better from here.

Works great .
I installed this on my Springfield XDM 10mm and put a vortex red dot on it . Seems pretty secure and sturdy enough. I haven't had a chance to take it to the range yet but I decided to put my bore sighter in it to get it close and on paper. it's so far off I can't adjust my red dot anymore . Windage is about perfect but elevation is way to high . I was really hoping it would work out . ******EDITED****** I finally figured out my problem and it works great held up to 50 rounds of 10mm so far !! Held zero the whole time !

Horrible Quality!!
I installed this plate as instructed months ago. I haven’t had any time to shoot over the past several months and just tried it this weekend. Within two shots, the red dot flew off. Luckily my Holsun was not damaged. After inspection, the screws from the red dot to the plate stripped off and one of the dovetail pegs broke. Total waste of time and money. I am buying a DPP titanium plate now.
