No Flies in Culture but give it time!
The delivery date kept changing but I was okay with that. However when culture arrived there were no flies in it. I did find some larva so hopeful that I will see some flies soon. Will update my review on what happens.8/28/23 Update: Do not throw your culture away if you do not see flies! As started above mine did not have live flies but was full of Larva. I placed it in the container i use for incubating my cultures for a few days and there was an explosion of flies! There were tons of flies and I am still having eggs laid, larva hatching and flies hatching. Very impressed now with it and will buy from seller again!

Disappointed in quality, culture full of mites.
Delivered to wrong address but found it. There are very few live fruit flies in culture and very few eggs/pupae. Poorly packed with no padding and no way to keep fruit flies warm on their trip cross country. No markings on box that say it’s live animals or fragile so the contents of culture rolled around in cup and crushed a lot of the fruit flies.Won’t be sourcing my fruit flies from here again.Quality not worth price or wait. Hoping I will be able to collect enough live fruit flies to start a new culture as media looks old and pretty dry, but there are so few I don’t think I will be able to. I really wanted this to work because it’s so easy to order through Amazon.Back a week later, it is beginning to produce, but is completely infested with grain mites, to the point where I’m probably just dumping it and the two cultures I tried to start with it.

First time buying bugs online!!! Won’t b last
This is my first time buying live insects online. I am extremely happy with this culture. I followed instructions and waited a couple days for breeding, ect. The population exploded, they were all so mobile. And, so many more than I expected. Plus, no smell. I checked every time I opened it. Even after a couple weeks , no smell and they are still breeding. I am satisfied and will purchase again from this seller.

Fruit Flies
I like the fact that it has all life stages but the only issue I have is that they don't last long after having it for an extended period. I've had mine for a few weeks now and now have to buy another one. Recommend for those that need a lot for a short period of time.

You get what you pay for
I received this container of fruit flies to feed my dart frogs. It came in a cardboard box with holes in it, and the plastic container that the flies were in was cracked so all the flies were gone. I did contact the owner and they did send another Container, but the quality was not as good as Josh’s frogs. I guess you get what you pay for and I will never order from this company again.

Good deal
I was very skeptical that this culture would arrive in good condition after many bad past experiences shipping fruit fly cultures. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It arrived in perfect condition and was already producing flies. There were no dead flies, so the timing was perfect. I have no idea how the media stayed at the bottom, but it did!

Good Product
Well, this was a good product experience. Arrived with a few live flies, within days there was plenty of larvae, now I have tons of fruit flies to feed my freshly hatched mantids. I am about to move to a large size fly now. This culture smells a little more funky than others I've used in the past, but my critters don't seem to mind so I guess I don't either. I did have an issue with delivery, but I think that was more a UPS problem rather than the merchant.

Not flightless, not wingless.
Completely unmanageable if you’re planning on FLIGHTLESS flies in the culture. If I wanted to be able to manage these I’d need to separate them out into many much smaller tubes. This is patently awful. Culture dies out quickly, especially since they keep ESCAPING.
