I just bought a 2018 rg470mb. i'm not sure if my particular bridge is any of the ones being talked about. will this work?

The RG470MB does not use one of the bridges listed, so this tool likely will not work with your guitar. Sorry!

I own an ibanez rgahm470 and the tremolo unit is described as "standard double lock". will this tool work?

I have an RG470AHM as well and this tool does NOT work on this guitar. It has the standard double-locking tremolo, but the slot that is supposed to go around the fine tuning screw does not fit around the shaft of the screw. In addition, the hook that is supposed to go into the saddle to push or pull the saddle forward or backward does not fit in the gap behind the string block on the saddle - it is too wide. I have a feeling that Ibanez changed the specs of the saddles and fine tuning screws in the past few years and this tool no longer works with the newer floating bridges.

Anybody use on the vai jems ?

Yes. I've used this on my Jem, with a low profile edge, as well as standard edge equipped guitars. -Works well for both.

Would this work for a trs-101 floating tremolo? i have an ibanez rg450dx.

Not sure but it worked perfectly on my 2000 made in Japan Ibanez RG470 with the lo-trs bridge.
