Reflector Hood for Photoelectric Beam Sensor Reflectors

Every time it rained, my gate would not operate properly because the reflector and the little receiver got splashes of water on their lenses. This item is a pretty easy install. I had to cut a groove in the hood to allow me to feed wiring through the receiver side without having to un-do wires. I have had ZERO problems through the last winter of rain. This silly-looking little hood kept the reflector and receiver free of water drops.

Works well with garage gate.

Our newly installed gate works very well -- until it rains. Water droplets gather on the reflector, refracting the light from the sensor and fooling it into thinking the path is blocked. This simple, easily installed hood prevents the buildup of water droplets and the gate functions normally even in heavy rains.

Actually it can accommodate reflectors slightly larger than 3" and even bigger if you use a longer screw. The material is thick plastic somewhere between hard and soft and I do not think it will break easily as I kept breaking the previous ones hitting my leg in a tight space. It doesn't come with a screw and you may need to drill the center hole bigger if you will use it. Good product.

Works perfect

Its perfect for when it rains. No more getting out of my car to wipe down the reflector. I still have to wipe it when its very foggy outside because the reflector fogs up but other than that no more getting out of the car on a rainy day.

The screw that came with it was too short for my reflector. With a litter bit of work got it to work, other than that its fine

For years we have had a problem with the gate not closing on rainy days, but after attaching the protective hood the issue seems to be solved. An inexpensive, simple solution.
