I bought these magnets to secure a service panel (77" x 28") that I built into a wainscot wall, which surrounds my central air conditioning system. The wall and panel need to be stable secure for both appearance and safety, but easily removable to service the air conditioning system behind it. These magnets and included strikers were perfect for my needs and my goals. These magnets are VERY strong which gives them plenty of strength to hold the wooden panel safely and securely in place, and strong enough that it does take intentional effort to open the panel once I installed them, but completely workable for its purpose. The product description said these were rated for 70 pounds of pull/hold power, and that seems very accurate. The panel I'm using 4 of these magnets to secure is only about 8 pounds, but its size requires 4 (1 magnet at each corner) to hold it in place. These are very well-built, strong, and durable for construction use, and will exceed your needs for most household uses.

Don't take ***'s on "easy to remove" as a negative, quite the opposite. Same with ****'s on durability, as I use them outside. They are relatively weather tolerant, certainly more than necessary given the cost. I have purchased at least 4 sets. I use them to hang (heavy) tools in my shop, hold tarps down, and many other uses. Which is why I keep purchasing more ... I "use them up" and need more. Quality construction, super strong (almost "dangerous" strong), fairly priced. Casters and magnets are my friend. Now, if I could find this level of caster at this price I'd be overjoyed. Buy these. They work.

Bought this pair of magnets to use on my solar controller board (2’ x 4’ piece of plywood). The bottom of my board is hinged with two standard inside door hinges on a cross stud, and my magnets are mounted at the top in the center on a two by four cross stud. Both magnets are recessed below the face of the stud in a hollowed out inset. I used a flat piece of steel bar stock bolted to my panel for both rigidity and a strike plate for the magnets. The magnets do not touch the steel bar, just a fraction of an inch apart. For me two magnets would have held my board in place vertically, but I wanted to distribute the force across the 4’ span, so I ordered two more magnets. I placed each magnet about 8 inches from each end the same as the other two in the center. My board will not lose it’s grip because of these powerful magnets.These magnets have a very strong field. Be careful when you handle so you don’t pinch your fingers or skin. Highly recommend for similar latching projects. Update - Just bought two more. They work great in my project.

I like the magnets a lot. For the most part I am using them for mounts for my radio microphones in my vehicles. I gave them a four rather than a five star rating because they are a bit too strong for my application and there wasn’t anything on the website to help me determine what strength of magnet I needed. They are very strong and hold very well. I am using one of them to hold my cell phone on the face of the dash in one of my cars. I super glued a piece of steel to the backside of my cell phone and it holds very well through the case I have my phone in. it would be good if the supplier had a better way of helping people determine what strength of magnet they need for different applications. The pound rating is good but I did not have anything to relate it to. Overall I really like the magnets and that they are countersunk and include appropriate screws.

These magnets are awesome , I love rare earth magnets ! I ordered these along with one of the 110 pound pull rate earth magnets. I was playing with them and these stuck together. I had a heck of a time getting them apart and I'm a strong guy. I plan on mounting several of these to a 1/4" piece of flat plastic strip and mounting to a broom handle and using it to pick up dropped screws and nails so they don't find their way into my tractor or Jeep tires. It will be a way better magnetic pick up tool than you can buy ! With the 110 pound pull magnet , I put the end of a piece of 550 paracord through the mounting hole on the magnet , tied a figure 8 knot to secure it to the paracord and plan to keep it in my tool bag for work. I can use this to retrieve dropped (lost in the grass) screws , keys or tools dropped down a storm drain or to stick screws or bolts to when I'm working on my truck. The magnets are great. I wanted to use them to show the trajectory of a golf club by attaching the manets with a 6 inch bolt attached to them. The magnets were so powerful I could not remove them with relative ease from the golf club. These are great magnets for other purpose than what I had for them.

Ordered these tiny but powerful magnets to actually remove a 20' drain snake stuck down in a PVC pipe in a house. Worked like a charm. I attached a small USB camera on to a 50' flat snake with some electrical tape. After running the snake through the drain and locating the old 20' snake (this had fallen from a second floor toilet drain), I then used some wire to attach one of the magnets to the very end of the flat snake and ran the line back down. The magnet was small enough to fit through the PVC pipe and make corners as needed...and grabbed on to the old snake firmly. With a little bit of patience and pulling gently I was able to get the old snake out. This magnet was perfect for the job, very small and very strong! Saved me hundreds of dollars in plumbing bills. I don’t think you’ll find a stronger magnet for its size anywhere commercially. These magnets are shipped with plastic spacers between them, which I thought was odd. Then I put two magnets together, it is almost impossible to pull them apart. American made, we obviously know how to made magnets. If you need a strong magnetic to hold a hand tool, this is it. Really small items these may be too strong.
