Glass. It's actually a very nice high quality looking product. It looks great going up my stairs.

What's the frame width?

frame width is 1/2 inch for the pinnacle 7piece black frame set; Approx sizes: frame 8 3/4 X 10 1/2 mat 4 1/2 X 6 1/2 : frame 8 1/2 x 6 3/4 mat 3 1/2 x 5 1/2 : frame 16 1/2 x 12 1/2 mat 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 : really love it.

In the product description it says: "1-12x16 frame matted to 8x10 or 8x12." Well, which is it matted to? Or do you cut the mat out for the 8x12"?

The frame comes with both a 8x10 matte and a 8x12 matte so you can choose which one to use. I am very happy with the set I bought and just a tip, use command strips to hang the frames.

Are the "Walnut" color painted or stained onto the wood?
