It comes with a ball. It won't look like it when you receive it but it is in the net once you open it. 100% comes with a ball

Would these work for catching stomp rockets?

They might but the pocket is rather deep and might not be long enough. You certainly wouldn't be able to throw them back and forth like we could with the ball
