Medical Basics Neurology H&P Notebook : desertcart.ae: Books Review: I'm so glad I took a chance on this! The ROS and physical/neuro exam sections are so helpful to ensure that I don't miss anything. It takes a lot of stress off. I took the cheat sheet that came with the notebook, folded it in half, and taped it into the back cover. The book also comes with some laminated hole- and badge-punched cards that have some of the same information for quick reference of the CNs, GSC, etc. Logistics: Just be prepared to write small. I wear a small scrub pant, and it sticks about an inch and a half out of my cargo pocket; it sticks about 2" out of my small scrub top. It is a little flexible-- perfect for comfort without having to worry about the book becoming damaged. It is a little heavy, but when you get 100 pages of high-quality paper, you can't expect anything else. The pages are perforated, but they won't accidentally rip out. The coil is sturdy, so I don't anticipate being stabbed by it or having anything catch on it. The cover is water resistant (not paper), too. Overall, the quality of each part is excellent. Critique/for the company: there is so much space for patient history in the PHI section, and I'm not really sure how all of that would be used considering there are already boxes for pieces of pt history. If there is a version 2 released at some point, I would take some of that space and move it to the sections for CC, SH, and FH, and definitely for meds. Adding a small box for the attending physician/charge nurse would also be a good use of the space. Alternatively, you could easily make the book half an inch shorter for those of us who want to stick it in our smaller scrub pockets. :) For now, I'll use the extra space as an "overflow" area and just be grateful for this stress-reliever. Review: I really like this book to help me organize my H&P and I like that it comes with a little guide in aiding with the neuro exam!

This was a great notebook that helped me get through my Neurology clinical rotation! It has a nice Physical Exam section with the cranial nerves listed so you will never forget them when conducting the neuro exam. Would recommend to any medical student or other healthcare professional in the neurology field.

I bought this before my first clinical rotation (which was Neurology) and I loved how much it helped me, particularly in pulling information from more complicated patient histories. Being able to take the notes in an appropriate order for presentations was also helpful as I was trying to get used to the routine and how to synthesize the info that the Residents and Attendings actually wanted me to tell them. I would have liked a little additional note space for things that didn't clearly fit in a section, but the labs and imaging sections were particularly helpful reminders, and the Neuro specific section helped me not to miss things in my strength and reflex exams. Probably too many templates for one person on one rotation, but I've shared some with other students and I'm keeping them for when Neuro concerns come up in IM, Peds, or FM and I don't want to miss anything. Overall, a great resource (I used the tip sheet and ID cards regularly, as well) that I've suggested to others worried about their chart reading and presentations.
