Great Device
ProsLow cost and water proofSaver plan is 9 bucks which is cheaper than adding a sim to my cell plan and using a sms based locator.Tech Support is US based and will call you backsmallcons NoneWord to the wise for a GPS signal to work your device needs to be close to the sky and not buried in the trunk. Your Cell won't pickup GPS in a metal trunk so don't expect this device to. They sell a Dash device with a external antenna, spend the extra money and get that one if you plan a trunk installation. I have this device mounted on a UTV, in the dash, there is a plastic dash cover over it and it picks up GPS signals just fine.Alarm featureswhen device is triggered by vibration (sitting on your ATV, tornado/hurricane or earthquake) you will receive an event specific alert notifying you that it was triggered by vibration. In addition, a “tow alert” to notify you when moved < 300ft from last location, while ignition is offIgnition is on alert if you hook up the ignition signal. If using the ignition cutoff feature call tech support before wiring (uses sinking output). They had some issues but worked through it and compensated me with free tracking time, shouldn't be a problem for anyone else now.

Do you love false positive alerts and inaccurate tracking? Then this is for you!
I really liked my Trackmate Dash GPS units and thoughts this new smaller, waterproof unit that supports 3G would be a no-brainer. Unfortunately, this unit is no where near as accurate as the Dash units and frequents hops around the map in terms of where it is geographically located. Normally, it bounces around a 200 ft perimeter (which is not acceptable since my Dash unit is accurate to around 50 ft), but sometimes it gets really confused and says it is very far away. Yesterday, for a split moment, even though I am in NYC metro area, it thought was in South America! When it refreshed, it went back to its normal location. Of course, I get multiple SMS alerts a day that this unit has left my fence. False positives are not acceptable, nonetheless multiple times a day. Contacted support and they were not helpful. I would stay away from this model until they improve the hardware. Not happy.

Replace that old 2G.
More Better! Not fully waterproof like the hydro, but great new features. A single remote control output and positive ignition detection. It uses hardly any power compared to the old Hydro! No movement and it hibernates until there is movement detected. Trackmate also improved their interface so win-win. 3G so it actually works again.

Best unit Tested
This is a great working unit. I put in wife's car on 400 mile trip and was able to make sure she was safe .How many times do you see news stories where person went off the highway and were missing for days? The customer service can not be beat . I am going to buy more from them and put in generator trailer and on my tractor. I also bought the Dash 2.1 3g its a good unit also.

Intermittent tracking
At first this tracker worked great. However, for the past few weeks, the tracker does not update as it should. It updates anywhere from every few hours to over a day. I've called the company and their only response is that there is a glitch in their system. They have said that it should be fixed by the end of the week for the last three weeks. Because it doesn't update properly, you can't generate a vehicle history report.

Very Good Web Interface
This unit may be a bit more involved in installing, but it works very well. I've had experience with the Mobile Asset Solutions product and while that product works well too, the web interface on the Track Mate is much better.
