Just buy the pocket size. The large one is just a pocket size printed on larger paper. This book does explain the rules in an easy to understand way.

Perfect little book to start the game

Add some USGA style pictures on Out of Bounds, Lost Ball and Penalty areas. The words are understandsble to an experienced golfer but a Novice could use pictures.

Nice reference guide for beginning golfers.

Unless one needs a hard copy, using R&A App is a better option

To be honest I wish I hadn't bought it, will be buying something else asap.
