It was easy to insert the SSD and did not need any tool. The rubber stud could easily be inserted and twisted to lock the SSD in place. The heat generated is normal and not much of a concern for a simple back up operation. I use this to sync my work files while I work as a back up solution. So for me there is not much extended writing involved except file syncing. So for that purpose it's perfect and really fast.

It is not supports max speed via Type C TB4 port. Max speed I attained is 1Gbps using this and TB4 cable. Whatever cable comes with this will support 1Gbps max. Try Acsaus. But thrise costly. But support upto 3 Gbps

I was searching for an nvme enclosure that works with mac. The Realtek chip RTL9210 is compatible and this enclosure uses the same chip. And it works with Intel Mac and Mac mini with M1. I formatted using the Mac OS disk utility and had no problems. WIth a P5 Plus ssd, and a direct usb-c connection get speed over 900Mbps. Installing is very straightforward and tool-less. Overall satisfied with it.

Well this has a Realtek rtl9210b chip. Much better than JMicron VS ASM chip controller. The case looks premium but if using it for backup or intense data transfer on regular basis then make sure to use a mid range NVMe. Unfortunately many cases available in market dont have Realtek chip, those are buggy and sometimes gives a frustration. If using a High performance NVME, it will generate too much heat. Also the caddy is too small to fit a heatsink on nvme, also any NVME with a company fit heatsink won't be able to fit in this caddy. (I had some heatsink with me luckily it was a perfect fit) Risky solution for techie: use a thick thermal pad on the nvme, this will control the temperature to some extent. If needed fold aluminium foil 3-4 times and keep the foil on the thermal pad. Make sure the foil doesn't touch the nvme surface, the thermal pad should be a sandwich between the aluminium foil and NVMe. Suggestion to ugreen: make a small heatsink to fit in the case, this will reduce the gap between the outer body and heat will get transferred.

Be sure to check your SSD type and then buy. Works for both nvme and sata ssds but not for all types, so check your SSD type carefully before buying. Very nice product overall.

It keeps disconnecting the don’t connect again for almost 10 mins firstly I thought it should be a heating issue then i relaised that it is not upto the mark and each and everything they told in product overview is a lie .please stay away from this piece of garbage.
