Nice chunk of volcanic rock to mash up authentic Mexican salsas. Not sure what someone else was saying about it being a chunk of concrete covered in volcanic rock? That’s absurd and baseless. You can see other items that were damaged in shipping clearly being solid volcanic rock. If you properly season the rock, it will grind up just about anything. Good solid weight, easily fit 4 large avocados, and came with a little tortilla warmer. I’d say it’s a great value.

Great material, well cut, bigger than what it looks like

I bought this for when we have tacos for dinner. It gives a fun Mexican vibe and the presentation of the food makes it a little different from what we normal do. I have had friends over for dinner when we have used it and they asked about it cause they wanted one.

This is not a molcajete carved from basalt, it is a clay or concrete formed molcajete sprinkled with a few basalt granules.

Authentic, works really well. Cleaning ibstructions were helpful.
