Great value, great product
I have taken my time, since i received the product, to test it extensively. So far i have cut through ceramic, porcelain, sinks, toilet units, you name it. I absolutely love this product and will order more in the future. The disc, as stated in the description, is very thin, which allows for precise cuts. It is not aggressive, compared to the standard diamond/ruby-coated ones. The cuts are clean, depending on the material of course. I find that ceramic, when cut with this disc, tends to chip a bit on the edges, but i expected it to be honest. The durability of the product is immense. I have cut through countless pieces and it still is pristine. When cutting, there is less attrition/friction with the material so u find that i am using less force compared to other discs. Now, please bear in mind that you should take all the precautions possible when using this product. It produces noticeably thicker dust than your standard coated disc. This dust gets shot at high speed, so use a shield on your power tool. Also wear glasses and a dust mask, mandatory. Being the disc thin, you need to have a very steady hand when operating it or risk snapping the disc and causing some damage. Always use two hands, don't do any cowboy show. Ultimately, the big question: water, yes or no? Normally i would always recommend plenty of water with these kind of cuts. Why? Cools the blades, preventing expansions (and then cracking), greatly reduces airborne dust Hope this

Excellent value.
Husband finally finished the floor tiling. Cutting is really good with it. Nice and sharp. Accurate cutting. Didn't get any chips at all. So I am happy.

good cut but inconsistent quality
used to cut 20 mm porcelain slabs. first disc lasted well but then developed a chip in the blade. The second one seemed to wear down twice as fast as the first. This could have been down to operator error. Would certainly not stop me purchasing these again. The cuts were precise and easy, just let the blade do the work and don't put too much pressure on them. I also used water to cool the blade whilst cutting.

Fantastic cutter. Indispensible for roofing work.
brilliant cutting disc. Used for cutting roofing slates - works flawlessly and goes through them like knife through butter. Refuses to wear out and stays sharp as new. 11 out of 10. Just done a huge complex roof and plenty of wear left for more.....

Superb - just needs a spacer for alignment
Despite checking with the seller, this blade is not a snug fit on the spindle/arbor on my DeWalt angle grinder. It needs a reducing spacer, although it's possible to centre the blade by eye and tighten the locking nut to achieve only a small amount of concentric vibration. Cutting performance in 10mm porcelain tiles is excellent. Fast and clean cuts with minimal pressure, and no chipping when cutting down into the face of the tiles. Well worth the money.

In a moment of madness, our daughter who has a new build house in Macclesfield took up the flags and turf that the builders had put down. She bought some ferociously large and heavy flags/tiles to replace them. One flagger came to take a look and wanted a ferocious amount of money to lay them but couldn't start until October and another came who wanted a double ferocious amount of money and could not say when he could start. She thus faced the prospect at staring at mud until the autumn at the earliest. In the next bout of madness, Duncurin offered to help her lay a few. I knew at the very least that I'd need a new blade. I chose this because of its emphasis on thinness. In truth it is no thinner than the Bosch blade I used for some tiling in my Victrex cutter. My Ferm cutter (both previously reviewed) is larger and needs a larger blade. Cutting the floor tiles was a nightmare. My wife had to help me feed them through and water went everywhere. We even had to remove the guard as the weight of the tiles stuck at this point as it went around the blade and the guard. Time and time again, the motor stalled with that terrible buzzing just before, hopefully, the cutout kicks in and time and time again we had to reverse the tile to restart the motor. I remember the Bosch blade seemed to cut straight through but please note we are not comparing like with like. The wall tiles though hexagonal were much smaller and also thinner. These tiles are massive. The slightest yawing causes the motor to jam and of course I suspect that the job was simply too much for my Ferm cutter and slow progress may have nothing to do with the blade. My instinct was to award this blade 4 stars and leave it at that. One cut, however, sticks in my memory. We had cut a tile in half and found that it was just too wide. We fed it through once again and took 2mm off the entire edge of it (60cms) This came off beautifully, accurately and incredibly in one piece. I am sorry I don't have a photo of it. Given then, if the conditions are right this blade is capable of performing cuts like those and 5 stars seems more appropriate. Photo shows blade in situ on the deck of the wet cutter and a newly cut tile next to it and also a couple of nice cuts going round the corner - please note the circular cut was fashioned using a Morgans angle grinder also as previously reviewed.

Not for serious work
Made 6 cuts in 20mm porcelain slabs and the blade had worn down past half way.. maybe ok for ceramics but not a serious blade

While using a wet saw to cut mosaic tiles for a bathroom floor, we discovered that the water from the saw loosened the glue that holds the mosaics to their mesh backing. Some would come off, and the mesh - rather than remaining somewhat rigid - became pliable to the point where the tiles that did stay attached did not keep their proper spacing. It was a nightmare. So, we bought a score and snap tile cutter (after watching a video of the device being used to effortlessly and beautifully cut porcelain mosaic tiles) and discovered that the tiles we're using are too hard for such a cutter. Enter this blade. Attached to a sliding miter saw with good dust collection, this blade made quick and accurate work of dozens upon dozens of straight cuts. The cuts were clean when we started and clean when we finished. We started each cut moving the blade from back to front, just scoring the surface of the porcelain. Then we cut a little deeper in the same direction, and finished with a third pass from front to rear. This sounds like a lot of extra motion, but it worked out to a little over a minute for each sheet of tiles. The result was sharp edges with virtually no chipping. This blade is also set up like the ultra thin cutting blades we use for woodworking. The outer half of the blade (at the rim) is quite thin, removes (wastes) less material than a standard blade, provides less resistance when cutting, and has a thicker body at the center of the blade that keeps everything stiff and pretty wobble free. At the end of the job, the cutting surfaces on either side of the rim appear minimally worn. I suspect it could handle two or more similar jobs. One important heads-up. I forgot to turn on the dust collection a couple of times. Turns out dry cutting porcelain tile makes a spray of fine particles and plumes of dust. If you don't use effective dust collection, you will have quite a mess to clean up and porcelain dust in your nose, mouth, and lungs. A doctor would probably advise against the latter. What a pleasant surprise to get such a good blade at such a reasonable cost. Good on the manufacturer. Jim
