Works great!
Thermacell Fuel Zone Guard Base works great on my camp, especially when I am fishing from my deck. Our house is over the water, so mosquitos there most of the time and that is my pain. I have tried many different things to keep mosquitos away from me, but nothing works as good as Thermacell mosquito repellent. It's very easy to use. It comes with fuel cartridge and three repellent mats, so it can be used right away. It covers about 15 ft area, has no smell, and not harmful for people and pets. Now I fill safe and can enjoy my fishing!

Actually Works – A Must-Have for Mosquito-Free Evenings!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Actually Works – A Must-Have for Mosquito-Free Evenings! I was skeptical at first, but this Thermacell Patio Shield seriously works. I’ve used sprays, candles, and torches before, and none of them gave me the consistent, scent-free protection this device does. 🦟 Effective Mosquito Protection: Once activated, it takes about 10–15 minutes to kick in, and after that, you’re in a noticeably mosquito-free bubble. I use it on my back patio during the evenings and it keeps the bugs away—even during peak summer mosquito hours. The 15-foot zone is accurate, but make sure there’s not a lot of wind for best performance. 🌿 Scent-Free & No Spray: The best part is that it’s completely odorless. No sticky sprays, no harsh smells, and nothing to apply to your skin. Perfect if you have kids or pets around. 🔋 Easy to Use: It’s simple to set up—just insert the repellent mat and fuel cartridge, twist the base, and the little light lets you know it's on. The included 12-hour refill lasted through a weekend of evening use. Refills are easy to find and reasonably priced for the convenience. ✅ Pros: Actually repels mosquitoes effectively Odorless and spray-free Easy setup and compact design Stylish enough to sit on any outdoor table Safe around food and drinks ❌ Cons: Protection takes 10–15 minutes to activate Wind can affect the coverage zone Only covers a 15-ft radius—you may need more than one for large spaces 🏡 Final Verdict: If you're tired of getting eaten alive while trying to enjoy your patio or backyard, the Thermacell Patio Shield is a game-changer. It’s effective, clean, and low-maintenance. I’ve already bought a second one for our front porch!

An Intetesting device
I am stocked to be able to have a device to rid my garden of mosquitos this summer. While I am not sure of its capacity to clear my whole patio its a small device that I can carry around with me as I work and not worry about getting bitten. Its light weight and seems powerful. The drawback is the refill requirements. Having to get more refill mats and fuel for the cartridge seems like more work than what I am looking for. It works for 12 hrs. So I am hoping that I can use it several time and just turn it on/off and not have to bother with replacements for a while. I prefer to use this than spraying my self from head to toe or carrying around a pail of water for Summit Mosquito Dunks

Repels mosquitos well!
Used this for camping last weekend, I was impressed how well it worked . It was easy to set up! It did seem to take about an hour to reach its effectiveness , but we started off the evening with a few bites and ended with mosquitos no where around our area !

Prefect for camping
The Fuel-ZoneGuard is prefect for camping when you don't have the ability to charge a battery. The fuel canister last 12 hours and mosquito repellant pads last 4 hours. Thermacell also makes 12 hour pads too. Replacing the fuel canister is quick and easy just turn off the unit and unscrew the canister from the base. The unit will last a long time since its a mechanical system. Run time will also be constant since it runs on fuel. All in all a great item for rustic camping adventures.

Works ok
Works ok, it does seem to help keep the mosquitoes at bay. It only last twelve hour though and the replacement cartridges are kind of expensive in my opinion. There is also no timer on this device so if you forget to shut it off you will waste the cartridge completely.

They work great.....but!!!
I have several of these units and can't say enough about how well they keep mosquitoes and gnats away. I do use 2 units for my 20 x 12 foot deck. Manufacturers always tend to over exaggerate the effective range on products like this. I use the half rule. If it says 15ft range I assume its going to be 7 maybe 9 feet which is why I use two units at the same time. If the bugs are really bad I sometimes add a 3rd unit but they do keep the bugs away. It's important to realize that you should turn these on and place them outside at least 15 minutes before you enter the area. This is actually what the Manufacturer suggests anyway. They do take time to heat up and for the vapor to start coming out of the units and to spread around the sitting area. As for the blue pads, I hear some complaints they turn white in less than 4 hours. Turning white doesnt mean its not working. The oil is still being emitted even when it turns completely white. In fact just having them in the sun and humidity will make them turn white but it still takes about 4 hours to exhaust the pad. One other thing to note is once you open the package the clock starts ticking. If you used it on day one for 2 hours and then don't use it for a couple days they will have dried out and no longer work and a new pad needs to be inserted. With that said its not the greatest if you just plan to sit out for an hour but they are still the best solution I have found. I ordered the rechargeable unit that uses a liquid cartridge instead of the pads to see if these are better for shorter usage times. I'll update this review once I try it. Update on Rechargeable version with the liquid cartridges... This is the way to go! Theybwork just as good as the butane models with the pads. They actually heat up faster too. When I'm done with them I turn them off and they are good to go even days later since the liquid doesn't evaporate from the wick. No pads pads or butane cartritges to deal with. When repellent cartridge is empty just drop a new one in. Couldnt be simpler. Note! The cartridge that comes with the unit is only partially filled, just like when you buy a new printer. The replacements are completely filled.

IM FROM FLORIDA
As a dude from Florida I can walk on my back porch and find 50+ mosquitos just looking at my outdoor table from the door. This does work well, but it is extremely expensive, you have to let the product sit for a while before you notice a difference and at the price of gas and mosquito pads that only last 12hrs for the gas and 4hrs per pad I could see this getting expensive. If you can afford it; it definitely works better than mosquito candles, but paired with mosquito candles it’s a beast, especially after sometime to pollute the air. WIND PLAYS A HUGE ROLE. Lately it’s been humid and extremely still in Florida so this product is working well, if it gets windy it wouldn’t be as affective because the scent and smoke would be pushed away from your radius.
