I like the hard case it comes in. The price was a good value. I really like Presonus products! :-)

Most important thing to note is that this microphone is EXTREMELY HEAVY (over 800 g) and will probably need you to buy a new microphone boom arm to support its weight (I ended up ordering the Samson MBA-38 )!! So factor that cost into your equation. I only just got this mic today and did a little bit of testing with it, hooking it up to my Audient Evo 4 . The sound quality is very good & felt extremely natural to me (dynamic mics often have a very "broadcast-y" sound to them). This mic does require a lot of gain though: I had to set my EVO 4 to max gain (+50 dB) and even then I could get decent levels only if the mic was about 7-8 cms (~3 inches) from my mouth. Background sound rejection is good, but not great. Will update this review later with detailed impressions after using the mic some more.

I recently acquired the PreSonus PD-70 Dynamic Vocal Microphone, and I must say that it has left a lasting impression on me. With its exceptional build quality, impressive sound reproduction, and competitive performance, it has quickly become a go-to choice for my broadcasting, podcasting, and live streaming needs. First and foremost, the build quality of the PreSonus PD-70 is outstanding. The microphone feels solid and well-constructed, exuding a sense of durability that inspires confidence. The robust build ensures that it can withstand the rigors of regular use and transportation without compromising its performance. When it comes to sound quality, the PD-70 truly shines. Its dynamic vocal microphone design captures the nuances and richness of the human voice with remarkable precision. The microphone delivers clear, crisp audio with excellent clarity and minimal background noise. This impressive sound reproduction enhances the overall quality of my recordings and broadcasts, ensuring a professional and immersive experience for my listeners. Unfortunately, the microphone's weight is a notable inconvenience. It feels heavier compared to other microphones in its class, which can become a burden during extended recording sessions or when using the microphone handheld. The added weight may lead to fatigue or discomfort, especially if you need to hold the microphone for an extended period. Despite the weight concern, it is worth mentioning that the build quality of the PD-70 remains solid. The microphone feels durable and well-constructed, ensuring longevity and reliability even with regular use.

You heard me correct (pun totally intended). I literally just compared this £90-ish microphone to the Shure SM7B, a whopping £300 microphone. It's ridiculous to make such a ridiculous claim, isn't it? Well, for someone who's experimented with a tonne of microphones, including but not limited to: this one (PD-70), Shure SM7B, MV7(X), EV RE20 out of the dynamic broadcasting bunch, I have to say that this microphone is brilliant value for overall money. I personally have sensitive hearing and I don't know if it's just me, after all audio is entirely subjective to what people prefer, but I feel this is overall a much better microphone to the SM7B, since I entirely found that it has a lot better presence overall in comparison. I do like the sound of the SM7B, but I never kept mine because I felt that it could get insanely muddy and too dark at times, where my experience straight out of the box with this has been extremely fun and easy-to-use. I rate it 5 stars because I find this to be an easy killer to the "younger brother" of the SM7B, the MV7(X), but of course it has some flaws to it. I don't appreciate that Presonus or other manufacturer hasn't made any shockmounts to help reduce unwanted noise such as vibrations, but I'm fairly happy with the sound quality to put that aside and still rate it highly. Although I haven't used the software that Presonus gives, it is a great resource for those that are new to audio and need help within the post-processing section. It's an amazing resource if this is for beginners or just people like myself who just like messing about with this sort of stuff. My rating? 99/100. The 1/100 over being the shockmount. That is how high I give it.
