It's freakin' amazing how much this unit actually holds
I have a pretty large dvd collection (hundreds of discs in single cases and collection boxes) that was being stored on a tall, 5-shelf book-case. The only way I could fit my collection was to pile the DVDs on top of each another and line rows of them in front of each other --- suffice to say, I couldn't see or get to my DVDs without having to move DVDs out of the way. I bought this bookcase because of the good reviews, the compartmentalized design, and because it looks cool. And let me say --- it's a FANTASTIC (if a bit pricey) bookcase for holding DVDs. Funnily enough, the whole way through building the case and even after finishing building it, I was really skeptical how much it could hold, because it was 1/3 the size of my normal bookcase, and the box it came in was a lot smalelr than I was expecting... that is, until I started putting all of the DVDs in. When it gets right down to it, the design for this revolving case is genious. When you really think about it, the most compact way to store a DVD collection would just be to simply stack it into piles of DVDs sitting on top of/next to each other. That's pretty much what this book-case ingeniously allows you to do, and it winds up being a really pleasant surprise just how much can fit into it despite the small size. That said, it didn't hold my ENTIRE collection, but it got maybe 90% of it --- I plan on buying another one of these though, for the remaining DVDs and so that I can have a ton more space to expand my collection. One downside for collectors is that you can't see your entire collection all at once, but this didn't bother me, because being able to easily access and store my collection in such a small space is a BIG plus for me. Other people have mentioned the plastic used at the base for revolving, and it does seem a bit worrisome, but I think it's probably not going to be a big deal. Unless you just love spinning the bookcase for hours on end, I'm fairly certain it's going to last for years. I did encounter an annoyance building the case, though --- it was missing a single screw (called a European screw), which I couldn't even find at Lowe's hardware with the help of their staff. Usually these sorts of build-it-yourself units come with extra nails/screws, so that was pretty annoying. Despite the minor setback, the quality of the bookcase really outweighed the small inconvenience (I wound up getting a replacement screw that was similar, and it sort of worked out), The unit was also really straightforward and easy to set up, overall it took about an hour from start to finish. The instructions are easy to understand, and the build itself is really easy. It's a bit on the heavy side and it'd probably be easier to get a dolly to move it wherever it needs to be built first, though I was able to lift and move the package without a whole lot of trouble and I'm not a big guy. Overall a fantastic purchase, and I'm definitely going to get another one in the coming months. Very much recommended.

Great value for price point
After assembly, which was fairly easy, we filled this to almost full capacity with CDs. The unit is stable, spins easily and really looks good! Can't ask for anything more. By the way, there was one piece of wood that was obviously damaged in transit (cosmetic damage to a corner of the top piece) that did not affect functionality of the unit, but was a visible flaw. I contacted the seller and the next day they shipped me a replacement part, no questions asked. Great product, even better seller follow up and support. Highly recommend.

Good value for price
The rack is attractive, fairly easy to assemble, and has worked well for me so far. I followed the instructions which says use pliers to twist in any shelf pins that were too tight and had no issues with having to hammer in any that were too tight. I'd buy it again if I had another need for this particular 600 CD capacity. Unfortunately the floor footprint in which it has to live was too small for me to choose the larger 900 CD unit. (And I've already filled it with little vacant room for the future). My only criticism is that the available pre-drilled holes for the shelf pins are not evenly spaced so it's difficult to have columns of shelves containing both tall DVD cases and of regular CD cases without what seems like wasting some capacity space between the transition. You end up having to leave unused space if you don't have all of one or the other. I alternated columns of DVD's and columns of CD's. An extra row or two of shelf holes might have allowed less unused space to allow one additional shelf of CD's on the columns having both. Knowing this I would have drilled extra ones myself. But you won't see this issue until you have the whole thing put together and partially loaded. Drilling your own shelf pin hole sets with any accuracy would require drilling the panels before any assembly. Storage capacity was good for the size. I did end up not being able to see the full case spine label on some of the left-most single CD/DVD's on a particular shelf as there is a fraction of a CD case width of blind space behind the veneer. Overall the rack seems sturdy for the money in our first week of use. The swivel provided is plastic and I've probably got well over 100 pounds of disks in it so that's a potential wear issue in the future. You'd have to unload and partially disassemble the unit to replace it to change it out. The "Frequently Bought With" list for this item currently contains a metal, made-in-the-USA "1000 lbs capacity lazy susan" for an additional $13.46. If someone can verify that it fits this rack well - including it not being too thick for the length of the provided axle bolt - I would spend the extra money to buy it if I every bought this unit again.

Fine Functionality, Abundant Storage, and Stellar Service
I like it! Researched many options for storing my CDs & DVDs and quite pleased with this product. Two "face" boards arrived damaged, I called & emailed (w/ photos) customer service upon examining contents, and w/in hours my replacement parts were on their way. They even arrived two days earlier than was quoted. The gentleman from company was courteous and very attentive to my issue. Refreshingly fantastic service! That was a Thursday, Sunday morning the parts arrived and within less then an hour it was up and swiveling. Putting it together w/ a friend made it that more easy and dare I say, fun. Instructions were easy to follow and somewhat intuitive. Unhurriedly and methodically it came together quite nicely. Then the best part...arranging my 300 plus CDs and a couple of dozen special DVDs. And there is room for growth! It is a substantial, and handsome piece of functional furniture. It rotates smoothly and it proudly displays my collection. It may not be solid oak, with five coats of finish, yet it serves me well. The only thing better than this tower is the customer service I received. Bravo.
