Chocolate comes in various grades or qualities. The lower the grade or quality, the more bitter the aftertaste and less rich the flavour.I used to make and hand dip chocolate candies a few decades ago. But the companies I bought 5 lb. blocks of chocolate from have cheapened their product.I am not able to go back to candy making at present. So I get my rich chocolate “fix “ from See’s. The quality has been the same (only the price has risen) since I was a child 65 years ago now. And there are previous few companies that you can say that about!

Chocolate Was Old. Amazon gave me a refund

We buy Sees every Christmas from Amazon. This package was not like the others. The chocolates were old with a white cloudy dust on them. When we opened them, a fine dust of brown crumbs coated the entire box too. The bottoms of each chocolate were white and cracked. The inside of the box wasn’t pristine white, but stained with brown smudge marks. I can’t serve these for the holidays. What a waste of money. What a disappointment. We tried to bite into two of them. They were hard and crunchy on the outside. We spit them out. :-(The photos don’t capture all the fine Brown crumbs. Those ended up on our floor when we went to open the darn box.I took pictures of the chocolate and contacted Amazon, and they gave me a full refund. Thank goodness. I guess it was from some third-party seller.
