I'm in Hog Heaven!
We just finished stuffing fifteen pounds of bratwurst into these casings and they were perfect. Soaked them in warm water for 45 minutes and then rinsed them and drained them. Don't be put off by the tiny size - they stretch and hold. Not one casing burst or split. Out of 80 brats only two had pinholes, and that could very well have been my fault. We had more than enough casings in one pack, and another full pack in the fridge for the next time we make sausage. Now here's the great part - every collagen casing I have ever used disintegrated in the frying pan, but these natural casings fry up well and don't shrink, split and dissolve in the heat. The taste is not gummy and plastic like collagen, and they brown well. This is a quality product, well packed and produced with care. The value exceeds the price!

Quality Product
I may not be the best one to write a review since this was my first time to "stuff sausage." Have a local farmer who raises pork (which, by the way, is delectable - will never buy store bought again!) and one package stuffed about 28 lbs. of ground pork. Took four recipes from Bruce Aidells' "Complete Sausage Book" (love the "Iowa Farm" and the "Italian"). The casings are thin, but I only had one "blowout." A few of the sausages that we cooked ruptured, but that did not affect the wonderful taste. The casings were much easier to work with than I had imagined, but, as I said, this was my first effort. I have a KitchenAid mixer w/stuffer attachment and used the ~ 10mm diameter sized funnel and got ~ 25mm diameter sized links. Lots of fun, once you get the hang of it, and, of course, Yummy!

Worked really well
Great product, we used to make venison sausage (which turned out awesome) these were large casings, one or two pieces were a little bigger in diameter than the others. We are using these when we make pasta. The casings were the easiest to use out of the varieties we tried. Next time I would like to find similar smaller casings for breakfast links.

Easy to use, good quality
Very easy to use. They re hydrate quickly, and it's easy to separate them into individual lengths and find the end. Comes in roughly 3 foot lengths that make roughly 6 quarter pound sausages. You can fit considerably more than the rated 25lbs into what they provide in a pack (50lbs in the two pack). We bought the two pack listed here and packed a total of 90lbs of pork sausage in a few hours. Every year until now we've been intimidated by cased sausage, and just wimped out and backed loose. So glad we bought these this year, totally worth it.

HOG (Casing) HEAVEN
These worked out well. They came wrapped neatly in the package, were easy to soak and use. They did have the typical hog casing odor, nothing overwhelming, just noticeable. They were easy to work with and came off the stuffing tube easily if kept moist. After cooking they provided a sausage type of crisp, not tough but a little snap to them. One package made over 15 lbs of sausage.

Will buy buying them again!
Never made sausage before. Had done a fair amount of research and had nearly been convinced that I did not want to buy "hanked" casings, that pre-tubed casings were the way to go. But I decided that I wasn't ready for the extra cost of pre-tubed, and bought these. I'm glad I did. I had absolutely no problem with them once I got the hang of stuffing sausage, which took less than one casing. These particular casings worked much better with a 3/4" stuffing tube. One package (you get two) stuffed about 25 pounds of sausage. Just follow the directions. If you don't use the whole package in one stuffing session, just take them from the water, put them back in the ziplock package they came in, and put them in the fridge. I don't know how long they keep but it was two weeks between stuffing sessions and they smelled the same. I highly recommend lubing the stuffing tube with a tiny bit of vegetable oil before feeding the casing onto it. I will be buying them again.

Great casings
Easy to hydrate and clean, consistent sizes, works great with our vertical stuffer. Use cool water to clean and prep works better than warm Water. Just used three packs to make a ton of fresh sausage... exactly what we needed!

I’m a hobbyist sausage maker and wanted to try a casing that came in pre-measured amounts, so I could make small batches.

Thank you I am going to use them on Friday.

Casings had several large holes throughout. Ended up with 10-15% waste and more work due to having to work with shorter lengths after cutting out unusable sections.
