Just what my seeds need
Great well-built product, it doesn’t feel cheap. It was packaged well so no dent on mine like other reviews, I guessed they fixed the packaging method. One thing tho, I wish the tilting knob is strong enough to hold it in position that I need. Also there’s no on/off switch on the unit, just plug on and unplug off. So if your outlet is hard to reach, you can add a smart plug. it would be more convenient. But it works for my situation and use.

good, functional clamp lamp--works with heat lamp bulbs
Purchased this for use with Red Heat Lamp 250 Watts BR40 5,000 Hours Long Life Medium E26 Base Light Bulb Industrial Grade, Red. Oddly enough, it doesn't have any kind of on/off switch, so I also purchased Lutron TT-300NLH-WH Credenza Lamp Dimmer White. As other reviews have noted, it did come in with a few small dents. Of course, I don't see how this matters. Mine were small and don't really affect the functionality of it. It works. I screwed in the bulb and it turns on. No short circuits or anything. The clamp works and holds it firmly in place. it's also adjustable, so you can point it in whatever direction you want. I like that feature.Otherwise, not much more to say about this.

Protective wires are firm
The clamps are flat and straight and so it will slide down with weight unless there is something to stop it from sliding. The protective wires are great to protect the 250W light I put in it.

Fairly Durable, Solid Base & Cord, Adjustments....Not As Easy.
I purchased this Brooder Clamp Lamp with Ceramic Base to specifically house my RubyLux Infrared Therapy Light (Bulb) that requires a ceramic base for high-wattage bulbs and the protecting housing for the heat from the lamp as well as the delicate nature of the Infrared Bulbs that *may* shatter easily and/or burn something if it were placed in a base that didn't have this enclosure and reflective case. If you are also looking to purchase something for your Rubylux Infrared Bulb, I definitely recommend you buy this for the safety measures if nothing else. I've heard about people using desk lamps and ignoring the necessity for the ceramic base as well as the safety enclosure and really don't recommend being lax about the safety measures in using this bulb. The bulbs are large, very warm - hot, and delicate. While this brooder clamp may not "look pretty" laying around your house for light therapy....it's necessary to protect your bulb (after all it's a $21 bulb) and more importantly....yourself, your home, and your pets/kids from injury, fire, or burns. The very first time I clamped this (with the bulb and unit plugged in) to a kitchen chair....my cat jumped right up, got spooked, jumped down and managed to kick the entire fixture off the chair. It tumbled to the floor (still plugged in) and rolled across the carpet. Thankfully, because of this base....nothing was burned, no one was injured, and my bulb was protected from shattering. It did the job it's meant to do. Now for the cons:Falling from a chair onto a soft carpet (like a 3 foot drop) shouldn't have left a HUGE dent (I'm talking like 1/4 of the outer ring was heavily indented) and I basically hand-molded the outer ring back into a ring-like shape (but it's still all messed up and uneven). I realize aluminum is the choice metal as a former CNC Machinist....but a roll on the carpet shouldn't cause that much damage because if this unit was *for example* hanging in a barn or over a hard floor and fell down....it seems that the material is so soft that it would completely or nearly crush the outer shell and ruin the holder permanently. That would also suggest that whatever bulb was inside would shatter and potentially cause injury or fire. So I think the ability to take a light - medium fall would be an improvement on this Clamp Lamp.Second....the clamp itself is very easy to use. Squeeze and just press the black part onto whatever you're clamping and it stays in place without marking or ruining anything. The problem is that the clamps only tighten according to the spring-loaded area you squeeze and you cannot tighten it down further. My cat's tail was enough to knock it right off of the back of a wooden, solid chair. While you can turn the screw to tighten the angle of the top portion of the unit where the light bulb is located....you can't tighten the clamp. Plus it being covered in fabric makes it a bit slippery on hard surfaces.Third...is the part you CAN tighten. After you move the main unit to a few different angles....it needs to be tightened again or else the whole "head" just flops around suddenly out of place. Tightening is basically required each time you use it if you're going to adjust the angle of the lamp-head itself more than one or two times. So you have to be dedicated to paying attention to this thing to use it. I haven't used other brands or styles of brooder lamps for this particular purpose....but it seems that unless you plan to hang it somewhere and just leave it alone entirely....you're going to be doing adjustments and tightening screws with each use. So that needs improvement as well. The price is OK....but if it's ruined/badly dented with one gentle roll...I feel like it's designed mostly for hanging and leaving alone rather than a clamp-light that can be adjusted and TRUSTED to stay in place. However, I still give it 4 Stars because it DID take a roll and protected a hot, infrared bulb and protect my home, myself, and the bulb from being damaged, so it did it's job and is otherwise easy to use and easy to clamp. Adjustments? Not so much. The cord is very thick and well-coated and seems to be safety-inspired and appropriate for outdoor/indoor use and the ceramic base is also very large, thick, and durable. The basics of this lamp are great. The clamp, adjustment-ability, and softness of the Aluminum could really use some work. Overall, I'm satisfied with this purchase considering it wasn't created for using and adjusting all over your home for light-therapy. But I think the improvements necessary should be obvious even for outdoor applications.

Works very well.
This worked very well for my chicks. I used a ceramic bulb that did not have the light. I used it inside my home not outdoors.

Warms you up and feels great! Relaxing too
I wanted a light for my bathroom that I could use to make me warm and if some other benefits could be had... as I see people buying lights for all sorts of reasons such as healing, wrinkles etc.... so I just hate feeling cold... ANY way it works great for that and I'm very glad I bought it. It lasted anout 6 months of pretty much everyday use and was on alot of the time. REALLY ALOT. So I am reordering now since its burnt out.Quality is decent..... I mean, its a light bulb. Lol not sure what it is people are expecting it to do... from some comments apparently they are expecting alot.I am thinking of making my own sauna and I would think that 4 of these lights ... maybe 6...would accomplish that.... if I do it ill leave a review on that.

Works as described
First one arrived bent, but the supplier replaced it immediately and it arrived in great condition. This works very well.
