I purchased this for a homeschooling project to do with my five kids. I needed a compass quickly, and saw the positive reviews and went for it. I absolutely love that it has a string. This made it simple for my four year old son to hang on his neck and keep close on our nature walk. It was very simple to use and has a nice, big and easy to read orienting lines, arrow, and magnetic needle. It is well-built and a good value. I am planning to order more so each kid can carry one on future nature walks. It's light, portable, and very user-friendly--even for little ones. Added bonus: there's a built-in magnifying glass for spotting creatures and nature!

I got this compass and a paper map for our trip to Yellowstone. As some of you may know, there is no internet connection in national parks. It worked great. The trip would not have been as smooth without this compass.
