Great indoor and outdoor stove
The Fore Winds by Iwatani Rugged Camp Butane Stove is an outstanding choice for any outdoor enthusiast. One of its best features is how easy it is to use. Setting up the stove is a breeze, with a straightforward design that allows you to get cooking in no time. The ignition system works flawlessly, and attaching the butane canister is quick and secure, ensuring you're ready to go with minimal effort. What truly sets this stove apart is its ability to keep the butane canister at an optimal operating temperature, even in colder environments. This is a game-changer for those who enjoy camping in varying conditions, as it ensures consistent performance without having to worry about the fuel source losing pressure. Wind resistance is another major highlight. The design of the stove is built to handle outdoor elements, and even in windy conditions, the flame stays strong and steady. This is a huge advantage when cooking outside, as many stoves struggle with flame control when exposed to the elements. The construction is also top-notch. The Fore Winds stove feels sturdy and durable, able to withstand rugged camping trips. It has a robust build that gives you confidence it will hold up over repeated use in tough environments. Additionally, it comes with a very nice carrying case, which not only makes it easy to transport but also provides protection when it's not in use. Overall, this is a well-built, highly reliable butane stove that performs excellently in outdoor settings. If you're looking for a durable, wind-resistant, and easy-to-use stove, the Fore Winds by Iwatani Rugged Camp Butane Stove is definitely worth considering. Highly recommended for campers and outdoor cooks!

Excellent Iwatani stove!
Exceptional butane stove. Compared to the other butane stoves I have bought over the years, this Iwatani stove's quality far exceeds the other stoves. The flame is excellent, flame control is excellent, butane canister insertion couldn't be easier++ and heavier metal construction adds to its stability. This stove is definitely worth the higher price. Never thought I would be so impressed by a butane stove.

Quality Second to None
Is this expensive? Yes. Will it last over 10 years? Yes. Is it 2x times better than a cheaper stove? It’s 3x times better. If you go outdoors and use a larger pan/pot, this is a must. I get sketchy with other stoves using 10” pans. I can use a 12” pan and be comfortable. Note that the magnetic union requires you to keep it clean.

Easy to Use, Easy to Clean and Powerful
I already have a portable butane stove by another manufacturer. I decided to get a second stove because I’m a snow bird and both locations are on the east coast. With the increase in storms, I wanted to have a stove in each location. I have found these portable butane stoves very convenient for not only emergencies when the power goes down, but I also use it car camping. I really like their small footprint, but not so small that I can’t make the meals I want. This Fore Winds by Iwatani stove is a little bigger and more powerful (11,000 BTUs) than what I’ve used in the past. I do notice that the time it takes to boil water and cook items is faster. It seems durable and I like that it has the safety feature (pressure sensing device) for the butane cannister. The carrying case is nice and holds the stove securely in place for storage or transport. I rated this stove 4 stars because the jury is still out for me because of how the fuel cannister is held in place by a magnet. When I used the stove, it held the cannister in place, but it can jiggle a bit. I’m used to stoves that have a lever that initiates a locking mechanism that holds the fuel cannister in place. I can inadvertently hit the stove causing it to move and the cannister will stay in place until you release the locking lever. As I use this stove more, if I find there is an issue with the magnet, I’ll update my review.

Dirty and damaged item sent as new- absolute junk
Missing outer product sleeve, dirty and damaged outer case, unit has metal damage and butane cover damaged. This is my 2nd dissapointing experience with this specific product which I now suspect uses sub par quality units from Iwatani Japan and remarkets them as "Forewinds/Rugged stove". It's all BS. Furthermore, these units do not have to pass the same CSA Japanese certification specs. The igniter is different (this per the Forewinds contact here in the USA). I have since received 2 brand new Iwatani units from Japan at a great price, sealed in box, no flaws or defects. Price significantly lower than what is offered here. So there it is. I would avoid this item - I have experience with 2 and both were damaged and did NOT look new, with one item even missing the outer product sleeve. YMMV, but this was my experience. When possible, opt for the TRUE Japanese certified product, and not this rebranded,2nd quality/factory defect/used and damaged JUNK.
