This is an awesome kit! Perfectly designed to go with the D11 technic set

First, the good: The materials are great and they go together well to complete this model. The lights are easy to assemble and add realism to the already great Lego D11. The parts come in clearly labeled packets that are referenced throughout the build. Now the not so good: the instructions suck. They are not the worst instructions I've ever seen, but they are far even being considered "decent". Going on line, it appears that different versions of this kit were made and the few online videos I found used the earlier kit version so there's no help there either. I hoped Briksmax would have a better version on line, but their online PDF is for the earlier kit version, so again, no help. What's wrong with the instructions? They just aren't clear. In many cases, you can't tell were the wiring goes or see how you are supposed to run it or even mount some items like the terminal boards. And since parts of the bulldozer are black, the black wiring disappears on the pictures. For the instructions, simply using white or lightly colored wires to make them stand out would help a lot. Also, there is nothing in the instructions about mounting the battery box, so you're on your own. Fortunately I had some extra Lego pieces and was able to construct a mounting surface on the rear of the D11. If the instructions were clearer and more complete, this kit would rate 5 stars. As it stands, I can only rate it 3 stars and would have given it 2.5 had it been possible.

These look great but they are hard to figure out. Once on they really are cool

Pictures in the instruction manuals were poor. Pictures would show black wires on black bricks, making it impossible to determine wire routing. I frequently had to improvise a route for the cables because the pictures were not clear.

I looked at several lighting kits for the Lego D11. This was the most expensive one and there's a reason for that. It's well thought out, lots of lights, printed instruction booklets and it even comes with a decent pair of tweezers to assist in routing the wiring and a small screwdriver to remove the screw on the battery pack cover. I plug it into a USB wall charger for static display and use the battery pack when I'm driving it around. This isn't my first Briksmax lighting kit and it won't be my last.

It was better than I though both items

Come l'anno scorso ho fatto per l' escavatore LIEBHERR 9800, anche quest'anno ho acquistato un kit di illuminazione per completare il CATERPILLAR D11. L'effetto, a mio parere, è molto bello. Rispetto al kit dell'anno scorso ho apprezzato il manualetto di istruzioni più grande ( anche se le fotografie, spesso, non riescono ad illustrare al meglio dove fare passare i cavi). Bisogna munirsi di tanta pazienza ed un po'di inventiva per trovare anche percorsi alternativi. Ho apprezzato che nel kit fossero compresi una pinzetta ed un mini cacciavite utili per il montaggio ( non presenti nel kit del LIEBHERR 9800 dello scorso anno. Mi aspettavo un po'più di effetti speciali sui Led ( perché non prevedere le luci arancioni posteriori intermittenti come sul LIEBHERR?). Nel complesso abbastanza soddisfatto ma, manca quel qualcosa in più che avevo trovato l'anno scorso. Si poteva fare meglio con poco.
