Q: Would this work on an hp envy 360 screen?

Yes, it will. I have an HP Envy x360 15-aq292cl and I had previously ordered an active touch pen for it and it did not work. After researching the model, does not have a digitizer (a sensor that allows the active touch) on the screen so active touch pens will not work on the Envy x360 15-aqxxxxxx series. Only capacitive touch, like this Mixoo Smart Pen, will work.

Q: can i use it to write as a regular pen on an app similar to words?

I think it would work for writing notes . It has the small wired end and it has the pencil point with the round plastic end. You can chose which one is best.
