Great Product, Follow the Directions!
I used this with the Dr tims ammonia to cycle my tank, it cycled in about a week. I had dry rock in my tank with live sand and it cycled very quickly, i have also been using it when i add new fish to the tank as a precaution and have not had anything but 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites and very low nitrates while using this. I know you can use this and add a fish or two immediately in bigger tanks (>75 gallons) and you can probably do it with one fish in smaller tanks but after researching a lot, i used the ammonia in my nuvo 38 just to be safe, after i cycled the tank i added 3 tiny Blue/Green Chromis with another half bottle just to be safe and saw NO change in my water parameters. The stuff works! My degree is in Biology specifically micro biology and I went to a school that has a big fish health biology program so a lot of my classes were related to fish, after researching Dr Tims and reading his actual peer reviewed research on the website and based on my own experience with it, I would HIGHLY recommend this if you are using dry rock when starting a tank. Also, i have yet to have a diatom bloom in this tank, which is a huge bonus. I had read from other reviewers that they didn't have the bloom and i didn't believe it. The biggest thing though is read the directions and follow them!

Worked as advertised, actually BETTER!!
My son and I set up a 75 gallon marine aquarium and had problems from the get go. Fish dying, ammonia through the roof, etc. We put in one bottle about a year ago. No trace of ammonia, nitrates, nitrites, etc. since. BUT the real story...haven't lost ONE fish. It isn't a cure-all OR an alternative to regular tank maintence, but it is certainly a safe, effective, and INEXPENSIVE tank treatment. And on a side note, we lost power for 6 days after Hurricane Sandy. Didn't lose a single fish. I can't say for certain that Dr. Tim's product had anything to do with that, but I am pretty sure that if I didn't have a strong, healthy tank it would have been a different story.

Must have!!
Must have to help break down the ammonia in the water! It starts the bacteria process eliminates cloudy water and makes the tank ready for fish. Its good to get this once a year to ensure your tank has the proper bacteria in it. water changes may depenish the amount of bacteria. **Attention** The bacteria will drop O2 levels in the water that may cause fish to die. Use as instructed dont use the whole bottle!

All It Did Was Raise The Ammonia Level.
It simply did not work at all. I setup my new 75g with 20g sump verified the temp was stable at 77.5 degrees. All the water parameters were perfect for adding this product. I double checked and the salinity at 1.21, Alk 9.8, PH 8.2, Cal, 400, Mg 1300. Both the rock and substrate were inert and had no organics on them. I followed the directions on the bottle and added the entire bottle to the main display and even rinsed it with tank water to make sure I got it all in there. I then added the correct number of drops of Dr. Tim's Ammonium Chloride and left the tank to do it's thing. I started checking the ammonia and nitrite levels after 24 hours. Ammonia was at 3.0 and nitrite and nitrate both reading zero. Over the next several days The ammonia continued to climb to 5.0, but both the nitrite and nitrates still remained at zero. On day 5 the water chemistry was still the same. Absolutely no change in the ammonia levels. Clearly something was wrong so I checked the bottle expiration date and it still had over two years left on its shelf life. I ended up going to my LFS and picked up a bottle from a competing vendor and dosed the tank with it. I checked the numbers 24 hours after dosing with the competition and the ammonia had fallen by half to 2.0-3.0. I was also now seeing nitrites at 2.0. after 72 hours of dosing with the competition the ammonia is now at zero, nitrites at 4.0 and nitrates at 20. So after five days with Dr. Tim's, I got absolutely no results other than a higher ammonia level. Within 24 hours of adding a competing product I was already seeing results. So just be aware that while many rave about One and Only, for me it's not worth the money. I ultimately had to go back to the product I have used in the past to start my SW tanks to get results.

Great Product!!!!Very Very Happy!!!!
Well I was very patient when setting up my Saltwater tank. I carefully planned everything down to a T. I added Live Sand and Live Rock and Water. Now is were I started getting impatient. I waited a week and was not getting any ammonia levels at all, I added a table shrimp and waited another week, not much of anything. So I was watching some YouTube videos and came across this. Amazon had this for the best price so I ordered it along with the ammonia chloride. I followed the direction to do a fish-less cycle. After 8 days I could make my ammonia level go to 3PPM and within 24 hours it would be at 0PPM. I figured I would take a water sample in to the pet store to get tested. The test read 0 Ammonia 0 Nitrite and 5 Nitrate. I bought fish that day!!!!

Works As Advertised
Added this to my tank to help the tank cycle quickly. Within hours of adding the whole bottle to my 90 gallon tank, I tested for ammonia and it was zero, tested for Nitrites and they were zero, and tested for Nitrates and they were at 5. That is incredible. Havent added any fish yet only because I haven't had the time, but I really believe the tank is ready for fish introduction.

So far so good.
This got me from ammonia to nitrite in 3 days. Used 2 bottles in a 75 gallon and about 15 gallons of sump water. Will update on how long it takes to finish the cycle. Update Ammonia is gone within 12 hours but so far isn't doing anything about the nitrite. Still off the charts. I took away one star. Will update again. Update- Total of 18 days to cycle. I started to get impatient with the off the chart nitrites so I threw in a bottle of instant oceans bio spira and in 2 days nitrites where zero. Overall I think this was a very quick cycle. The one thing that I am wondering is what would have happpened if I used both Dr Tim's and Instant ocean from the beginning? Hmm. Anyone out there about to start new cycle, try both at the beginning and let us know.

it's good but it's not super concentrate as the turbo Fritzyme product that can really boots up nitrogen cycle in 1 week.
