Good on construction, output and price!
I liked this fixture the moment I turned it on. The combo of the 2 visible and IR frequencies mounted separately in the same housing look convincingly effective, where you can see the deep red LEDs alongside the separate powered but neutrally glowing IRs, and the combination actually feels good on the skin, concentrated into a tighter circle than the large boxy panels can direct. I used a meter and tested for both frequencies and found them approx equally present. I can't vouch for the overall long term healing properties of red light therapy, but I trust that if it does work then this light can do it. It's durably well made, maybe slightly heavy with ceramic and metal construction but it works fine in the adjustable photo light socket I had.

Excellent Light
This is a powerful red light and near infrared light. The performance is excellent. The price is very good. This is the most cost effective red light therapy device I've purchased (and I have about eight now). The power output leans toward near infrared more than red light. At six inches it measured out at 240 mW/cm2 for Red, vs 350 mw/cm2 for near infrared (850 nm).

Works as expected- DYOR on effectiveness of Red Light therapy
In my experience, this light bulb works as expected. Please read up on red light therapy, as I have no intention of giving any type of medical advice here about: General skin health improvements, Visible wrinkle reduction, Joint inflammation reduction, Hair re-growth stimulation, and Free-sperm/testosterone increase by; Placing a properly power-conditioned/ballasted red light source (630~660nm visible and ~850nm near-visible) within 1-8 inches from the desired area of improvement for several minutes at a time. Nope, couldn't really tell you those things, legally. I'm not a qualified professional to endorse any of that. So do your own research. But I can say that, after actually USING the product for several weeks, I *believe* this product is as effective as any other bulb of equal wattage on the market in generating at least the two types of red light the seller claims. And I will probably order more, if the price stays this competitive. I wish you good luck, and great health! EDIT: I went ahead and ordered a few more :)

Good for the price, power draw is 23 watts on my unit.
Good value for the money. Seems well constructed with plenty of heatsinking and heavy construction. It should be noted my watt meter says it consumes 23 watts not 54, so a star removed for advertising the theoretical capacity of the LED rather than the actual power draw, but still should be plenty for targetted therapy, say for golfers/tennis elbow. Install in a chicken coup dish light you find at farm supply stores. Cheap and easy.

Use on my face
I use this on my face for about 20-30 mins before i go to sleep. My skin looks great, more bight, smooth, even and my dark circles look a little lighter. It wont get ride of all your wrinkles but it does seem to make the skin look better. I would get a few more of these so it can cover more area. I use it pretty close to the face. Not sure what distance it is best at.

Healing my whole life with a red light
We love the benefits of red light therapy here! Those big boards/mats are so expensive. I purchased this and a clip on gooseneck to put it in. Easy to use on my scalp for hair growth, I just clip it to my headboard or nightstand. Helps with muscle recovery and building collagen so I use it while I do my stretches/yoga. Even the dogs love to lay under it, he’s a sweet old boy with arthritis.

Very powerful light, the bulb gets very hot!
This bulb is quite powerful! Instructions suggest you place it from one to ten inches from your skin. It is so bright that you definitely need something thick and opaque to place over your eyes for protection from the intense light. While near-infrared light doesn't produce much heat on your skin, the bulb itself becomes extremely hot! Be careful not to touch it until it cools down after use. Might need to use an oven mitt or potholder, to be safe.
