Directions Apply to face for coverage and concealing imperfections. Review: Not a lightweight foundation. This is full coverage. On the pluses, it covers a lot. Very opaque. Creamy with a radiant finish. Smell is barely noticeable. Wide range of colors. On the flipside, very difficult to use without being cakey. I used a spatula brush, foundation brush, fingers but still cakey. It might work best with a damp sponge. Finally mixed it with mineral primer, ELF in the white pump bottle, and managed to sheer it out enough to lay down a thinner coat. I did exfoliate and moisturize previously. See picture. The color is tricky. I needed a cool pinkish hue and thought this was it but it's too light. Makes me look washed out. After adding some liquid blush to it, the color is better. All in all, this product is too difficult to work with and I'd not recommend. Review: First, it has an unpleasant chemical smell that's very offputting. I'm used to a more cosmetic smell - something like powder and maybe a faint cinnamon scent - but this is strong and not at all pleasant. While the foundation is a good price for the size of the bottle and the quantity received, it still leaves an unsatisfactory texture and finish. It leaves no glow or smoothness, just goes on dry and powdery and leaves my skin feeling like chalk dust. I tried different application methods like a sponge and even fingertip application, but it still ended up the same. I even applied it lightly with a foundation brush to build coverage slowly, but even with moisturizer, it looks powdery and splotchy. I don't want to waste it, so I'm going to try and mix this lighter color with another brand that's more moisturizing and a bit darker to see if I can create something myself that's more usable. In summary, it has an unpleasant odor, applies unevenly, and leaves a splotchy, powdery finish on my face. The smell alone was enough to take off two stars.

I like that this foundation comes in a large variety of shades, even multiple options for fair skin. I usually buy NYX Can't Stop Won't Stop in Alabaster, and after looking at the photos of this foundation, I chose Alabaster as well. It was a nice match, but I haven't tried other shades so can't be sure that another wouldn't have worked as well or even better. It was easy to apply with my damp beauty blender sponge, and it provides good coverage. I didn't dislike the feel or look of it at all... it was just the smell for me that I can't get past. After you've had it on for a while the smell becomes less noticeable, maybe you get used to it. But for me, I don't want to have to smell it up until that point every time I wear it. I'm someone with quite a sensitive sense of smell and I also really dislike foundations or powders that smell. I also tend to dislike strongly scented lip products, it needs to be gentle and pleasant or neutral. If you're bothered by scents in your makeup, this might not be for you.

For comparison of Milani Alabaster, I did a swatch of that thicker, and blended out (on top/ closer to my hand) plus a swatch of Nyx Can't Stop in Pale thicker and blended out below that. As can see, they're similar shades, though Nyx runs a bit yellower. Milani is a better color match for me, and i personally don't like super matte foundations. This is a good foundation. I understand why people rave about this product because it's pretty easy to use a small amount, or a larger amount without it looking gross. I tend to go on the more light-medium side of things, but you could build it up. It also lasts better than my more matte foundations too, and I'm very oily, in a humid climate. The price is good, it didn't make me break out. The biggest draw back for me is a VERY strong fragrance. It's not a particularly good scent either. If that bothers you, if you're allergic or sensitive to artificial fragrance, stear clear. Otherwise, I recommend it.
