Q: Is this the original Barge glue with the Toluene?

Maybe previous commenter had a different experience, but I received the infinity series, toluene free green can. Dont bother with this stuff.

Q: Will this work on tiny area of leather seat in a car where the surface was gouged? I want to reattach the tiny surface pieces

I would consult someone who works with leather, or car seats how beast to fix your problem. If you are set on gluing the pieces together, Barge will work if you are able to apply glue to enough surface area of both pieces being joined. If they are small in surface area, you will want to find an alternative applicator than the lid brush. I would recommend for very tiny pieces you could use toothpicks to spread the glue on the two surfaces to be attached, or if they big enough pieces use a small squeeze bottle type applicator you can put some of the glue in and has a small whole in the lid for controlled application of the glue. If you have never used this glue before know that you need to apply glue to both pieces being joined, let the glue dry enough to just be tacky before joining the pieces, and it is very difficult to separate the pieces and move them around once placed (you run the risk of further destroying your leather pieces).

Q: Will this for formica tops as well?

This is a glue that cobblers use for soles of shoes, I use it for foam work in costume construction. So, I would say, use a glue is that is made for formica.
