Q: Why is the processing fee different for Square Terminal? Instead of a flat 2.75%, its 2.6% + 10¢ per swipe, tap or dip.

Square hasn't been flat 2.7% for a long time. Here is the (nearly) full breakdown of pricing on Square as of Oct 1, 2019: Square Point of Sale (any device) : 2.6% + 10¢ per swipe Square for Restaurants : 2.6% + 10¢ per swipe + $50/mo/location + $40/mo for each addtional POS Square Appointments: Individuals: 2.6% + 10¢ 6–10 employees: 2.5% + 10¢ 3.5% + 15¢ (manual entry) + $50/mo for 2-5 employees or $90/mo for 6-10 employees Square for Retail: 2.5% + 10¢ or 3.5% + 15¢ (manual entry) + $60/mo/location + $20/mo per each addtional POS

Q: do you need wifi to use the terminal?

If you buy the separate USB hub, you can connect via ethernet as the hub includes an ethernet port. We recently bought a salon that had an old, traditional cc machine that used an ethernet cable, so I merely switched the cable from the old machine to the USB hub, and then the USB output cable to the Square terminal, and it was working fine in a minute or two after going through the setup procedure. More secure than wifi connection, in case you have issues with pci compliance.

Q: will this print a receipt for a cash sale?

I am current it does print receipts however cash transaction not 100% sure might just need to be put into it manually

Q: Can you charge the square terminal with a halo bolt ?

Yes that’s how I charge my Square all the time but the Halo is there for backup I usually give my Square a full charge before going to my event!
