What a camera!
The media could not be loaded. The smaller the better when it comes to extra screens around the house, your screen is very easy to hold, nothing is clumsy with the camera or the screen!

Possible fire hazard defect
So this was bought almost a year ago and just like other reviews, we knew it had connection issues with the handheld etc. but we saw this as acceptable as the phone connection was more stable. However as of yesterdays development I see this as completely UNACCEPTABLE! We placed our little to sleep and put the monitor on only to see the handheld was low so we placed it to charge while we monitored. Within a few minutes however we noticed a burning scent in the area, looking frantically for the source we couldn't find it. My wife getting worried grabbed the monitor only to yell out in pain as the charging cable burnt the inside of her finger slightly as she dropped it immediately. The device was disconnected from the power and the outcome was seen in the above pictures. It looks like the cable shorted causing the charging port to be overheated and start melting the cable and the handheld chassis. This is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE because this could have ended wayyyy worse!!! Buyers be warned !!! This was the only incident that happened in almost a year but the severity of the results speaks for itself !

Good purchase
I use this in our master bedroom and the only thing I dislike is that the room needs to be bright for the camera not automatically change to night vision other then that it works great.

Nicer internet abilities, good home system...
Motorola's baby monitors are seldom found atop the lists of "Best Baby Monitors", but they're often found on those lists and user reviews are usually fairly favorable. I don't know if Motorola makes these or just brands them, but Motorola baby monitors been around for some time now, garnering the normal assortment of cranky reviews along with positive assessments.I can't speak to long term use of this monitor. So I'm reviewing initial impressions. If I find things to be different over time, I'll come back and update.Motorola makes two basic forms of video monitors. One type connects solely to a handheld unit via 2.4Ghz radio. It's not wifi enabled. It's a basic unit with fairly long range usable only when both you and your baby are at home. The other type connects both to a handheld screen AND, via wifi to your phone. This type can monitor your baby both when you're at home and, via the app and internet, when you're away from home. This is Motorola's most expensive wifi model. It connects both to a handheld receiver screen and to your phone via the internet.Wirecutter, the review site, said it disliked Motorola's wifi baby monitor the least of all the wifi+handheld LCD monitor units it tested, but it didn't give any wifi unit a glowing review. However, when Wirecutter reviewed baby monitors Motorola was still using its Hubble app for phone connectivity--an app I've not used--and reviewers say that the new app used by this system is far superior to the old Hubble app.OK, a few noteworthy features with differentiation between this and less expensive models in parentheses:1) Zoom is digital, up to 2X (other models range up to 4X digital zoom, a negligible difference, honestly).2) Pan and tilt are motorized (vs digital pan and tilt and manual pan and tilt on other models).3) 1080 resolution (vs 720p resolution on other Motorola systems).4) 5-inch lcd screen in monitor is clear with good color and visibility (vs. 4.3-inch and non-touch screen in other Motorola systems).5) Typical additional abiilities include: night view, 2-way intercom, room-temp monitoring, lullabies.6) Camera mount included.7) In-home monitor uses 2.4GHz radio8) Motorola "Nursery" app available for IOS and Android. This is a fairly fancy video monitor system, capable for in-home use and able to work over the internet with your phone.

Low quality product
We added this to our registry because we wanted to go with a brand we’ve heard of. Big mistake. The hardware looks good, but the software is so terrible, it makes me wonder if this is a counterfeit product.Cons:- There is a 12 SECOND DELAY on the audio. That’s not an exaggeration; I timed it! Rebooting doesn’t fix it, it’s always that bad.- Connection is unreliable. About once a day, the monitor loses connection with the camera, and beeps annoyingly until it finds it again, sometimes for 5 minutes or more. Volume setting has no effect on the beep, it can only be stopped by turning off the monitor.- Touch screen is laggy and unresponsive.- The pan and tilt motors on the camera are unreliable. Sometimes you can’t tilt up. Sometimes you can’t pan right.- The kickstand has a nice little loop for carrying, but it’s round, so the monitor loses balance and falls over, especially when the power cable is weighing down one side.Pro’s- Nice big LCD screen- Cloud-based WiFi app available, if you don’t value your domestic privacy.- USB C port for charging

Lags badly
Bought this baby monitor thinking it would be one of the best. But sadly it’s very bad for lagging with the sound. The battery life isn’t that great either! It takes forever to connect to the camera. Sometimes it just goes blank for a few seconds and comes back to the camera picture. It does have good night vision. I also like that I can follow my toddler around the room with the camera / monitor. Over all I wouldn’t buy this baby monitor again especially for the price.
