I needed this drill bit to be sure it fit the mushroom plug size when I drill the logs. I appreciated that it also has a stop on it so it makes it easy to know how deep to drill.

We snapped our fresh Diablo 5/16 bit after 3 fresh oak logs. We put the shiitake bit in a it drills and pushes shavings out leaving a extremely clean hole. Be sure to bottom out the bit so plugs are 100% in the log it even leaves a tiny well for wax to set in. If you're doing more then a few logs this is perfectly engineered for the job.
