When it comes to air filters, you get what you pay for. These replacement filters are the original and work as they should. I accidentally bought an aftermarket replacement filter and I realized very quickly that it wasn’t an OEM product (I should have know by the discounted price). These filters are the best and filter out the air very well. Don’t settle for anything else.

Replacement filters for Medify are painfully expensive compared to our other filters (Coway and SilverOnyx and GermGuardian and Levoit). They also need to be changed more often than the other brands. However -- they seem to work very well, so I guess that's the tradeoff.

The filters work great. The new filters are a different size and took several tries and several emails to Medify to get them to work. Customer service was helpful and prompt! Here's the info: (8/4/2024) Note: the new filters ordered from Amazon - official Medify replacement filters - are approximately 5/8” wider and 1/4” less deep than the original filters. Here is info from Medify: “The Medify Air team has tested the new filters to ensure that, despite being slightly larger, they fit all versions of the MA-50. The added benefit is that the new filters offer increased coverage and improved filter life. Here’s a quick comparison: Old MA-50: Coverage based on average 8 ft ceiling: - 1,100 sq. ft every 30 minutes - 550 sq. ft every 15 minutes Filter Life: 3-4 months or 2500 hours New MA-50: Coverage based on average 9 ft ceiling: - 1,210 sq. ft every 30 minutes - 605 sq. ft every 15 minutes Filter Life: 4-5 months (maximum of 6 months) or 3000 hours” This is my summary of instructions to install new filters from Medify emails: 1. Unplug the unit and remove the filter cover along with the old filters. 2. Ensure that the filters are unfolded and properly aligned, forming a square shape. 3. Lay the unit on its side. 4. Insert the new filter, apply gentle pressure to push the filters further back, ensuring a tight seal. 5. Slide the "lock" mechanism at the bottom. 6. Before installing and closing the filter door, plug in the unit. When you put the lid on, gently tap/knock all sides to ensure it is properly closed. You should hear a 'beep' after closing it. Even a slight gap can prevent the unit from turning on due to its safety feature. * It is important to hear the BEEP, if no beep, meaning the filter door is not properly sealed, please re-do the process. 7. After hearing the BEEP, the unit should be ok and should turn on.
