5S for Operators: 5 Pillars of the Visual Workplace (For Your Organization!)

Used this book for two 5S implementations in two different industries (processing and software lab). Both were big challenges. 5S for Operators helped paint the big picture to get things going. Highly recommend in your reference and learning materials when diving into operational improvement.

The book (and series) jump started my career as a supervisor. I make all my subordinate leaders read and implement these teachings. This book teaches people how to simplify, streamline, and standardize work. It creates EFFICIENCY in the work place!!!

Great book that is an easy read to help teach operators about 5s as part of a lean culture. This is a required reading for a lean green belt program.

There are GAPS in this knowledge of 5S. Seems he just copied it over quickly from a book he had in Japanese - wish he would: - Stress the need for SAFETY checks during SHINE, since it is usually simple and quick to do - update the mainly poor, 40-year-old visuals, OR SIMPLY MAKE YOUR OWN - appeal and give explanations of non-high volume manufacturing workplaces usage of 5S - Have a "Coach/Supervisor's Notes" section explaining some of the ways to prepare for introducing a section to people who are not familiar w/5S - Suggest qualifications/skills learners can strive for to achieve a Level 1, Level 2 of knowledge and experience, similar to the "White Belt" ranking in Lean 6 Sigma. Without this goal, trainees have no idea what steps to take to achieve mastery. As a simple, basics guide - good. After I got used to it, it was helpful as I tried to teach it to a group. The shaping up part was good. Its just using common sense you begin to see there are more elements to it.

Book arrived in good condition. I was very happy with the condition and the personal hand written note was great absolutely love those shows the seller will take just a little extra time to thank you and appreciates the purchase.

I used this book to review 5S principles with my staff over a years time in weekly meting we had., Book is a good refresher for 5S principles and was received well by my staff. Package itself is not worth price. I could have purchased cheaper on Amazon. There is no package just the book. Buy it somewhere else.

Um guia clássico, sólido e compacto com tudo o que necessita saber para implementar uma abordagem ou iniciativa 5S. Não alarga sobre o enquadramento dentro do Lean Management, mas é óptimo para compreender o quê, o porquê e o como.
