Hi, these should stay lit continuously. Sometimes they can go out after a while but they generally burn through completely.

What is the scent like? Can someone describe?

For me it is hard to describe the scent. I would like to get the Palo Santo sticks to burn to have a baseline comparison. I found mine to be strong and you can't put out once it starts burning without ruining. But I've seen Palo Santo sticks burned in stages.
