Q: Does this receiver support a zone 2 subwoofer? Alternatively, can the zone 2 powered output and pre-outs be used at the same time?

No, it does not support a Zone 2 Subwoofer. And yes, Zone 2 pretty much works independently, for instance, you can listen to the radio in one part of the house using Zone 1, and listen to a CD in another part of the house using Zone 2..... It is a bit tricky to figure out, but download and print the owners manual for best results.... hope this helps, this is a GREAT AMP!

Q: Can I mix wireless speakers to get 7.1 with my already existing 5.1 wired speakers?

I do not believe this unit supports wireless at all, I haven't tried it on mine, but it doesn't look like there is a place for this....?

This is NOT a 2 channel receiver, it's a 5.2.2 or 7.2 but if you use it as a 7.2 it sounds different than a true 7.2 because the 2 channels that are for height channels are processed differently than rear surround channels on a receiver that is designed for 7.2. It can be tuned a little but still should be used for 5.2.2 in order to get the best sound from Dolby Atmos or DTX.
