No accident is typical but how many applications can you expect from .5 oz?

I have bought quite a bit of this product. Luckily, I haven't had to use it. My recommendation is that you buy enough of it so that you can use several packets if necessary. Considering the amount of "social unrest" these days, consider the need to deal with other types of wounds.
