Good Book
Great book. Gets all the information across with no detail missed. Can get dry, (as expected of derivation intensive sections) but the topics are pretty cool. Now all seriousness aside, I know a guy that would spend more time reading this book than paying attention to his significant other. This lead to divorce for the couple in wedlock... divorce! So be careful. His kids don't speak to him anymore, he went over the edge, lost it at work, and got let go. He managed to get his life back together and has a few antenna design interviews lined up, but irreparable damage has been done to his relationship with his children, and ex wife. Purchase with caution.

Thorough yet approachable
Excellent coverage of all major topics in antennas. All the usual math if you need it but also good discussion, advice and summaries make it approachable, feels like a modern version of Kraus. I refer to this more often than Balanis (too esoteric) or Volakis (too constrained). I ran across this work because Thiele gave a nice talk at a local ham club meeting. E-book version is well formatted and easy to read, and costs half the paper version.

but it looks like this is intended for a first year grad student
Very helpful. Vast content. Provides a historical context, decent practice problems. I'm reading this as a junior undergraduate for an antenna project, but it looks like this is intended for a first year grad student. To maximize what you get out of this book you should review basic electromagnetic theory including the use of Maxwell's equations in integral and differential forms. Some linear algebra helps too.

Good, needs more examples
Good book, I wish it had more examples on the problem solving for antenna theory.

Easy Reading Text
Used this for my Antennas course. It's very easy to understand and is quite useful for building a good intuition for antennas. This is one of my most referenced books day to day.

Great book! Awesome price!
This is a fantastic book! It contains many example antennas and their specifications! The examples contain enough precision that you can tell if you understand how to do the problems! It's a great price! I am prejudiced for this book, because Professor Thiele was my major professor. My Electromagnetism II class worked on the problems for the second book. I remember working them out, Professor Thiele wanted to make sure everyone could understand! Merry Christmas!

Very good
The book is up to date with modern designs and computational methods. Very helpful alone, or with other texts.
